A Camaro Story...

Hi guys, it's me, Chuck's Camaro. He's been crazy busy lately, and I know he wanted to share this story with you, so I'll do my best to relate it as accurately as I can.

Chuck had a supercharged Mercury Marauder for years, and was heavily involved in the community and made a lot of good friends. The thing is, he rarely keeps a car for more than two years, and he had the Marauder for over six, so it was time for "what's next". He sold the Marauder, and put the cash in the bank, keeping his eye out for whatever it was he wanted next.

He spent his spare time working on the 1983 Mustang GLX 5.0 convertible he's had since high school. I've met this car, not bad for a Mustang. This july, for his birthday, his wife Jennifer rented him a Camaro for a week. Apparently, Check had mentiond how he liked the new Camaro and wanted to take a closer look at one. His daily driver was a 2008 Saturn Aura, and he wanted something different.

I guess that's when it all started [I wasn't here yet]. Turns out he really liked the Camaro, and liked it well enough to own one. Since his wife is a GM dealership employee, he headed on down to his local Chevy dealer to get a Camaro.

That's where I come in. Chuck couldn't find the car he wanted amongst all those homeless Camaros at the dealer. [That's what us "special order cars" call the stock units, "homeless". They don't seem to like it, but they know we're just kidding.] It was July 19th that Chuck and his buddy Wayne at Sunset Chevy decided I would be born. I don't really recall any of this, but I heard this is pretty much how it went.

So, with an empty garage and 6-8 weeks on his hands, Chuck remodeled and repainted the garage. Even carpeted the side I park on-pretty cool! New cabinets, benches, etc. I have a very nice room! It's a bit odd that when I was born on August 17th, Chuck was in Detroit with his Ford Corporate buddies. He's got a ton of friends out there, but they're all Ford guys.

I do remember reaching the end of the line at Oshawa, and the first time my ignition key was turned and my eyes opened. I remember my first though was "I have a home". It's nice to be wanted. Chuck was really anxious now, and spent much of his free time tracking my progress to South Florida. I'll bet the 7 days I spent in quality control drove him nuts!

The train ride was OK, as I had a nice comfy berth with my friends. I arrived in Tampa at the railyard Friday morning, Spetember 3. This is the sad part. Chuck knew I was only an hour away, and he was very excited. But, that afternoon his phone rang. His best friend's mom had just died. Just like that. Chuck was very close to her. He was on a plane to Connecticut the next morning. That afternoon, I arrived at Sunset Chevy, but Chuck was 1000 miles away. I was sad he couldn't be there, but I understood. Wayned tucked me into a bay inside the service department, and I waited there till Monday.

This is the good part. Chuck wasn't coming home until Wednesday, and I knew I had a home waiting for me. I didn't know what would happen until...Jennifer! She came to get me Monday afternoon! I was SOOOO happy! She's a really good looking girl, smells good, too! She was a bit nervous driving me home, but I made sure she did OK. I think the rain [it was pouring outside] made her uneasy. I pulled into my new home, and parked my Pirelli's on the indoor/outdoor carpet Chuck put in the garage. I stayed there until Wednesday when he got back from Connecticut.

He was very excited to see me, as I was to see him! We went for a ride, he performed what he called a "proper detail" on me, and we spent the day bonding/hanging out. We get along really good. I'm glad he ordered me.

Chuck doesn't name his cars.

He refers to me as "the Camaro". which is fine by me.

So you are like Chuck's mistress then. You have a ton of fun with him, make him buy you accessories, make him do things to you without even asking, like giving you a bath from head to toe, provides "special service" you when you need it and even when you don't feel like it, and he is thinking of you even when he is with his wife, and when his wife is around you pretend not to know each other, you even got him to clean out the garage that his wife asked him to do a million times AND even carpeted the floor!!! Chuck is Camaro-whipped. errrrr welcome to the club, Chuck.

Very good story. Gorgeous car too. Hard to tell in the pictures, but that has to be the beige leather interior since the carpet is black, just curious how you are liking that color interior?
