Yup, mine is a 2SS and in light throttle the car pulls my shifter from 1st to 4th gear.. sometimes i dont even realize it has done it till i reapply the gas pedal and lug the engine a little and immediatley have to shift to 2nd.. its freaking annoying!

I'm so freaking confused. How in the world can a car shift from first to fourth on it's own in a manual transmission? So if I lightly accelerate, the car will go to fourth gear, even if I shift to 2nd?

if it is like the vette, when you shift out of 1st it won't let you shift into 2nd or 3rd unless you have reved the motor up (forget RPMs). I'm guessing it is somehow controlled by the snychros, but I really haven't looked into it that much. It doesn't apply to the A6Y and I'm pretty sure you can tune it out with the Diablo. I think Vince knows how to do it too (he knows everything ).

I don't think this applies to the LS manual cars then. I can baby the car and have no problems going into 2nd or 3rd.

Yes it does apply to manuals; ONLY manuals.

There is a solenoid that that blocks second gear in the shift tree and allows (guides)the shifter to slide into fourth gear.

This only happens under light throttle... with much of any heavier throttle or holding the gear to a higher RPM it doesn't happen.

Here's a screen shot with the parameters to make it happen on an OEM 2010 SS M6.

LS3 manual only (SS), not the LLT AY-6 manual (LS, LT's). It's a fuel economy thing for manual v8 cars and has been used since the early to mid 90's for LT1/4 and LSX based motors in Camaros, Trans Ams, and Vettes.

In other words, if you have the v6, you don't have skip shift.

Ok, thought I was going crazy. Lol went and shifted at 1500rpm through all gears in the parking lot just now, and shifted perfectly. Lol

Unless you have some mods. Exhaust. Headers. CAI then I would not bother with the tune. However if you have an auto the tune can change your shift points.

Yes I have injen cai and magnaflow exhaust and adding magnaflow res xpipe tomorrow. Thinking about JBA headers. I do have the auto as well. My understanding that it may not be dramatic increase, but was wondering if it was noticable and improved the driving experience as far as acceleration etc. I was also hoping if I go to a slightly lower profile tire 245 50 R18 could I use it to adjust Spedometer.

yes you will feel a differnce. Not soo much with the power, as thier isn't much there, although the guys with the auto trans seemed to like the shift point change a lot. What I felt was a change in the car, the take off was smoother and the power band had a nice even flow. Not sure if that makes sense

If you get the JBA headers, you will get a hit or miss on a cell. Some people are getting it some arent, the tune will fix that and yes he can remove the speed limiter once you upgrade the tires, I put on the stick ss rims and tires in my case
