How much to have stripes painted on
Depending on what happens with my lemon car issue I have been wanting to get stripes painted on the hood and trunk/spoiler. Just havnt been able to find a credible answer? Any input to how much it costs.

A lot of variables here, but I'll toss out $1500 for basic SS stripes.

Mine are painted in House Of Kolor Tangerine Pearl over a black base and they were done to the exact footprint of the OEM rally stripes. $1,200

I paid almost $1600 for mine. I've seen others done for less but the saying that you get what you pay for is very true. I've seen cheaper stripes but with errors and flaws. My price included two paint colors, on 4 parts (front bumper fascia, hood, trunk and spoiler). He sanded down the existing clear coat, laid out the stripes then took the hood, trunk and spoiler off to paint each piece, three coats of clear coat after paint and everything is as smooth as glass. Excellent quality job.
More pics in my album.

I paid $650 for mine at the local Chevy dealer. They did an awesome job, sanded down the clear/laid out the stripes/took the three panels off the car, excellent prep and had me approve the stripes after masking prior to paint. They are buried under lots of clear so no lines are felt. They came out perfect with no flaws. If you make it to Fort Walton Beach, Fl look up Preston Hood Chevrolet body shop. They only paint them on now, have a book full of them. And since they were done before del. I have the full 3yr/36K mile war on the paint. Be carefull and do your reseach you can get excellent quality at a lower price.

I'm getting IOM stripes painted on mine soon. Getting them extended to the front fascia like some others in this thread, also getting them extended over the SLP dovetail spoiler.
I guess a good job will be around 1200-1600.. And just for stripes. I hope I never want a new hood or anything, cause thatll be even more money.

That looks sharp! Any more pics? When I paint mine on I'm going with something a little more orange than IOM.

Best quality is gonna be around $1,200-$1,500 for standard rally stripes. You can probably get it done some places for around $800. I would be skeptical of the quality on anything much cheaper than that.

IMO.......See some people are basing quality on cost, this is not true. There are great painters out there, you just need to seek them out. Just because people are paying upwards of $1200-$1500 for base ralley stripes, does not make them better just more expensive.
Do your Research...see their work...ask questions.... |
