Speaking of purple...

Wife and I were out the other day in her plum crazy purple Challenger...guy yells from his car " Awesome purple Camaro!"....

I remember another time out at our Friday night meeting place (TGIF in San Antonio) a guy and girl was walking around the cars and he make a call to his buddies I guess...says "Dude...you got to come out here! There are all kinds of Challengers here!"

His girlfriend then said..."uh baby, these are Camaros!" LOL!!

Typically I got the flaws pointed out in my Camaro from everyone! Didn't matter where I was...seems everyone could find at least one nick, one paint chip, one scratch on my wheels, anything really! It was annoying!

Same with the Z06...everywhere I go people seem to point out the little things rather than the overall vehicle...it's not like I am trying to present it as a show car either! I daily drive my cars!

I was loading groceries in my trunk on sunday and had a woman ask me if her and her husband could go for a ride. They wanted to buy an SS and had never sat in one. I let her husband sit in the driver seat but I told them I was in a rush to get home so maybe their best bet was to hit up a dealership... That was a weird one.

ive only had mine a few days. i have gotten a few comments on it but nothing like the lack of car knowledge that i see when im in my old hot rod. everyone is an expert and knows exactly what that car needs. yeah buddy it needs a lil space from guys trying to impress their family members on how much they know about cars.
as far as the new SS goes, i got this car for me to drive. everyone else can go get the car and color they want and i wont tell them what it needs.

Girl at mcdonalds drive up said she give me free food for a year if I let her drive it. Told her it was a stick she was sad. Like I let her drive it anyways.

Had a old guy ask me if I took a 69 and done custom body work to it.

This isn't weird but it was really depressing for the other guy. We were pumping gas next to each other and the Vette '94 owner started complimenting how nice the new Camaro was and how much he liked the IBM color.

He then moved onto the engine and asked how much HP it had. I told him it was V6 304hp. His smile faded quickly as he told me his '94 had a V8 300hp.

Times have certainly changed!

We parked out front of Mac's Speed Shop in Charlotte a few weeks back and a lady asked if it was a new Mustang. Told her it was a Camaro and the stuff we had done to it. She was embarrassed but was very complimentary of the car.
