Dealership installed Hurst shifter

I found a new 2010 2SS/RSS with everything I want except the hurst shifter. That is something that can be added on at the dealership correct? Also, does it come with a different shift knob than the stock one? A pic would be a big help.

you can get a hurst shifter installed at the dealer. from what i hear though, you can only get the aftermarket hurst shifter. the only way to get the stock hurst shifter is to have it built in there. this may have changed but i think this is how it works.
sounds like you would rather have the pool ball grip anyway so its a win/ win brotha.

Thanks man! Yeah, even thought the stock grip matches & looks ok. I'm looking for something a little better than just ok. That's why I'm to looking at the camaro to begin with.

The new time frame for the accessory hurst shifter is January. I want one for my car, looks like it will be a spring mod. Oh well, just something to look forward too when the car comes out of storage!! You can order the car with one, just not add it after the fact. Hurst does have one available aftermarket, and several have installed them and like them alot. Good luck with your selection.

Ahhhh, ok. So basicly there's a back order so to speak. Maybe I'll just go the aftermarket route after my purchase. Appreciate the help Becky!

Not a backorder as far as I know, I thought it was a validation issue. Who knows, I just wish I could HAVE IT NOW!!!

not a backorder, just a large demand for the unit to be installed on the "line" while the car is being assembled!

Maricopa!

I moved from there last year. What a thrill it was watching my house decrease over 64% in value in 4 1/2 years!! Lived there from 2005-2009.

Back on topic - just an FYI (I read on here) the factory hurst shifter option will not be available for individual purchase until January at the earliest. I guess it's in a back order situation because they just started installing them in August. You can buy the after market hurst shifter (which is different in both the throw % and appearence), and I'm sure your dealer would install it.

The Hurst Shifter is a option you can pick on the Chevy Website, what gives. I checked both dealerships where I lived, they siad it was discontinued, I said it never was available. I had it on my order, way back when. Anyways, I will be installing my brand new Hurst Shifter myself this weekend

They are two different shifters; the factory option does not have as short of a throw, and it retains the stock shift knob and look. The factory option, as stated by Becky above, is currently not available for purchase. January at the earliest.
