I think everyone needs to remember that CTS-V has a lot more creature comforts then the Z28 would have. The Z28 will be strictly for the performance enthusiast, therefore it would not be a big shock if the Z28 matched and,or beat the CTS-Vs lap time. Chevrolet and Cadillac cater to two different kinds of people this does not mean the Z28 can not step on the toes of the CTS-V. The only concern would be if the Z28 was faster then big brother Corvette, much less Z06's. I really think this will be the equivalent of the Z06 as far as value. A Z28 almost as fast as a Z06, but no where near the handling limits of the Z06, does not mean it will be watered down.

Normally I'm blabby about speculating on stuff like this. But, I'm gonna sit on this one. Take a wait and see attitude.

No way the Chevy Camaro will get as high a HP rating like the CTS-V..and if it really is 4,000lbs, WoW.. needs a diet already
There aint no way in hell the Z28 is gonna be rated at only 505hp. I wish we really could bet on that.

7:55-Closer to 600hp than 505hp

Really? I thought it was just straight line performance. I'd be surprised it the auto would be faster around a track than a manual. Do you have any references? I could see it if it was a DCT or similar, but with a slushbox?

The difference isn't much, but it does favour the auto IIRC. The CTS-V supposedly has the smartest auto in the industry, and most of the time it can pick a more appropriate gear than you can. It might even shift slightly faster than a manual. Not down to the speeds of a dual clutch unit, but faster is faster. And it doesn't miss a shift.

I don't know enough to make a qualified guess but I'm thinking landing between Z06 and CTS-V would make sense

7.56

That's how fast I ran it in my sercret Z28 prototype GM loaned me with all LT exterior treatment for cammo.

so I'm sticking with 7.56, . . . . I mean, . . if their driver is good as me.
