If the 2012 Z28 is scheduled to be released in the summer of 2011 as speculated, the NAIAS in January 2011 could certainly make sense as the venue at which to debut the hi-po top of the line Camaro model. I just found out today that GM are going to release the official details on the new Z/28 at the Detroit Auto Show in January! I was watching Fast Lane Daily and they confirmed this. Looks like we have to wait till after Christmas! Heres the video...

If the Z28 is going to be released in the summer of 2011 as a 2012 model, then the Detroit Auto Show would be the place to show off the pre-production car. I do not however expect them to have pricing and ordering information available at the Detroit Show. Specifics with pricing and options will not come out until the Z28 is very close to be being produced which at the earliest would be the summer of 2011 or towards the end of 2011. However, if Chevy proves me wrong and makes it available sooner than my prediction, then I get my Z28 sooner than I thought. It is still a win-win for me.

Hmm probably announced during one of the media days either January 10th or 11th...maybe the first one auctioned a few weeks later at Barrett Jackson?

Has the convertible been to NAIAS yet? That car exists and I don't think it's been shown yet.

I think GM will try to space the annoucements out a little more - '11 for the 'vert and '12 for Zed
