Olympic Peninsula Pumpkin Run

Howdy fellow North West Camaro Owners. What do you think about a Holloween Cruise around the Olympic Peninsula on Saturday 10/30 weather permitting. I was thinking we could meet in Port Gamble. Then head over the Hood Canal bridge and run to Lake Crescent and points beyond. Traveling around historic Highway 101. A good place to stay the night would be the Rain Forest Resort at Lake Quinault. Plus they have rooms available and the restraunt across the street is good too. Post up and let me know if this sounds like fun to you guys. Perhaps we can put together one last run before the Winter sets in.

Link to the Rain Forest Resort. The rates are reasonable and I have stayed here before. Not the Hilton but, decent.

sorry that is a nomination meeting for the club Dan & I have to be there, since we are taking offices this year (or dropping offices)
if it was the weekend before then we could do it.

What time were you planning on arriving at Lake Quinault? that's about a 3-4 hr drive back home, and I think I'd rather do that then stay the night, but the drive itself sounds fun!

I was thinking of arriving at Lake Quinault at Dusk. So if we met up at say 8 or 9AM in Port Gamble. Then we would have some time to stop along the way for photo ops, stretch our legs, etc. There might even be enough time to drop by Rialto Beach, Hoh Rain Forest, or any other place that strikes our fancy. So if you did not have time to go all the way around to Quinault you could start back at an earlier stop. There is lots to see on the Olympic Peninsula. Heck if nobody wanted to go to Quinault and they are up for a really long cruise we could go to Cape Flattery. Although there is not a hotel there I would recommend. I'm pretty flexible, just wanted to see if this would interest anyone.

don't have to plan around me man - I'd like to go, but I'll be bailing at some point to head home vs staying the night somewhere. Lake Q works for me because I don't need to take a ferry to get back to everett, I can loop back around south and head back up the boring I5 : )

just along for the ride.. haven't seen any of the roads or any of that area really, whatever you plan is fine!

I might be up for this...23rd/24th weekend is busy with dentist and Seahawks. I think this is the weekend after, so I should be free.

Bump!

We are making our reservations for the Rainforest Resort this weekend. I was contemplating stopping places, detours, photo ops, and eating establishments. As far as chow I think its pretty simple. The Salmon House Restaurant open for Dinner only (right across the street). Lake Quinault Lodge is open for breakfest (down the road from the Rainforest). Kalaloch is open for lunch 1130am-330pm. Sol duc and Lake Crescent Lodge are closed for the season. Smokehouse Restaurant in Forks hours are noon to 9pm. The photo ops and detours we can plan or play by ear. But, it sounds like its Kalaloch for Lunch and The Salmon House for Dinner Saturday. What do you guys think? Suggestions?
