a v6 engine once broke into my grandmas house and stole two cylinders out of her garage so thats why i will always hate all v6s.
just kidding. all the ruffled feathers in both directions is silly. i get tired of all the reved motors and mustangs trying to show off for me already. i got my car for my driving enjoyment and i appreciate other peoples cars no matter what they are. everyone gets what makes since to them. i will say that the guys who buy a loaded v6 car and put another 5 grand in it make no since to me though. a girl where i work has tons more money in her v6 than i do my ss. im a performance minded person though and others are option and feature minded people. |

geez this thread just goes on and on and on lol..
The reality of it is this (and I'm a V6 Camaro owner so I get the arguement). V6 owners don't care. We don't want to "rationalize" anything. We bought a car we love and enjoy and want to share with other Camaro enthusiasts. But seriously - we come to meets and shows and are talking to people about the love for the car and the minute they find out that there's "only a v6" under the hood, they lose interest. They suddenly don't feel that we are worthy to talk to or that they just don't care. It sucks. Because suddenly it makes us outcasts. No one else shares the love of the car with us and because we don't own a v8 - the ones that love the car like we do aren't interested in hearing about, talking about, or even seeing the cars we drive. And thats the problem. It's not about power, its not about speed - its about loving something that really gets your emotions going, wanting to share - and getting shot down for it. I've even had that happen with my car club -- had v8 owners in it who don't care that I drive a 6 and are human beings. But every once in a while I'll get a v8 owner who wants to join, he'll talk to the v8 owners and like all of us - and then he finds out I drive a v6. Suddenly he no longer wants to join a club where the owner/operator doesn't drive a v8 (and I've seriously got this response before) - because if I don't drive a v8 I can't possibly *really* love the Camaro or Firebird (sorry..Trans/Am. T/A people hate it when you call it what it really is). Anyway -- the point is that the v6 owner gets shut out because of a few horsepower when we are just as passionate and enthusiastic about this fantastic vehicle as you v8 owners are -- so what if we got a 6, there were reasons we did. Thank you to the v8 owners who aren't being stupid and respect the fact that there are reasons for everything that people do and the fact that they own the car is enough to respect the people that own it regardless of engine size. To those of you that have to hate the v6 - you will do so regardless of what anyone says and I get that. To the v6 owners who read this and identify with it - to the OP - I have to be brutal: get over it. I get what you are feeling I've been going through this since 1996 (when I bought my car) - it's never going to get better. Realize that you are just going to have to either commiserate with your fellow v6 owners, or try hard to find people that care that you own a great car and it doesn't matter what's under the hood. It's a long hard road but you've got a great car to drive on it. Enjoy the ride

Well to me V6 was only choice.
Price after taxes and modification to get car road legal -> 40k - 50k € thats 55k - 70k $ Im not sure about V8 prices but they are much more. Oh and gasoline price: 1,40 €/l -> 7,47 $/gal |

V6 owners do the haters really bother you? Gee I never gave it any mind. I don't begrudge anyone their ride they want why should anyone care what I drive. All of us here have made a statement to GM that we like what they have done and we want it in whatever form it is.
Enjoy your car whichever model it is. Whether it is stock or modded to the hilt.

I think v6 is kickass too, I was basically 1 day away from putting the order in for a 2011 2LT/RS. Getting a Camaro in general v6 or v8 is perfect in my book.

Heck I own a V-8 and I have never bashed the V-6. Think it is a great car.
It's a CAMARO - DAMMIT!

It's like some of the jerks at a car show. No matter what they look at, will always find some smart ass thing to say about it. Some people are just like that, so just ignore them. Their momma probably dropped them on their head when they were young children.

THe world did not end in 1972. It was a little wobbly as far as performance goes. But, we are now enjoying somewhat of a rennaisance in terms of performance vehicles. Let's enjoy them all. When someone starts that crap, I hit the clutch pedal and rev my motor. The heck with 'em! Drowns out their sorry *ss comments!
