I think what annoys people about the V6 crowd is just most of them just can't stop comparing their V6 performance to the V8's. Then they start rationalizing why they got the V6 and noting reasons why the V8 is not practical, etc etc. There is no comparison. Looks is as close as you gonna get and that only works for people not in the know. The V6 camaro is not practical either if you are so concerned about gas, insurance, more power than u need, etc etc. A Honda civic would have fit the practicality better, correct? The ironic thing is, almost every single one of V6 owner would drop their V6 camaro in a heartbeat ifsomeone offered them a SS. Practicality baloney.

You may have missed that I had put "Close."
The last one has a CAI, mufflers and a tune. The mufflers are more of a sound instead of a performance modification. The tune adds no horsepower or torque but can adjust the AFR on V6s that have done a CAI and headers, Hi flow cats, exhaust. Doubt if it is running any faster with it.
I included the others to show that they are able to get into the high 13s.

I attached a photo of my mileage. I trash cars with the miles I put on them. With a EPA HWY est. of 29, I was able to buy the V6 Camaro although it would have been more practical if I had bought a small car with a small engine. Anyway, I told my son if he stays on the honor roll the next four years of HS, it's his in four years.
Now I would have loved to have bought the LS3, but that wouldn't have been practical, would it?

OP, at least you already have your Camaro. Anyways...be happy with what you have man, if you were to have the V8 you probably would be thinking about wasting money on a supercharger or who knows what other mods. Yeah a v8 with plenty of torque, HP and a nice exhaust is nice to have but at least you are living within your means, heck were still young (I'm 25) and I'm doing online college courses, while saving money and in the military. After three deplayments Im doing alright, but I can always be doing better, I will probably end up buying my (V8) Camaro by the time Im around 30. I could afford it now if I wanted but priorities are more important to me than getting that beast of a car, patience is a virute my friend and I love the fact that I have tons of it, screw what people tell you about your v6 enjoy it for what it is, one of the nicest looking cars out there with or without a V8.

The reason why most people hate or have nothing nice to say about the V6 is that they have it in their head that only a Sports car/muscle car should come one way with a V8 and a manual transmission. No matter what you try and tell them or what facts you have they have a one track mind. Some will argue that it’s not fair the V8 should look much different from the V6 and yadda yadda yadda.

Some people just cannot get over that the 2010 V6 Camaro deserves to be called a muscle car the numbers below prove that this Generation V6 out performs the V8 on the early 4th Gen Camaro Z/28 V8. So the bottom line 2010/11 Camaro V6 or V8 they are both a Muscle Car.

(Facts from Edmonds.com & http://musclecarclub.com/musclecars/...istory-4.shtml)
1993 Camaro Z28: LT1 5.7 V8 275 bhp @ 5200 rpm, 325 lb-ft @ 2400 rpm.
Performance:
Z28: 5.7/275: 0-60 in 6.3 seconds, 1/4 mile in 14.8 seconds @ 97 mph

(Facts from http://blogs.insideline.com/straight...-coupe-38.html)
2010 Camaro V6 3.6L VTT
312 horsepower at 6500 rpm and 278 lb-ft of torque at 5100 rpm.
Test Results:
0 - 60 (sec): 6.0, 1/4 Mile (sec @ mph): 14.2 @ 98.9
0-60 with 1-ft Rollout (sec): 5.7

I don't hate V6s... I don't personally want one because I enjoy the V8.. but, I certainly don't look down upon someone for getting a V6...

Buick made a little car, with a little V6 in it that surprised many and still catches the uninformed off guard when they see this little grocery getter and think it's an easy kill.. If you're not careful with these, all you'll hear is a little whine and then you'll see converging tail lights.

Hell, the 2005 Grand Prix GTP had a supercharged 3.8L V6 that makes about 52HP less than this NA V6. The Camaro V6 only came up 2TQ short of that blown V6.. Still not too shabby at all.

oh so now you go back to comparing to the past. Too funny. 304 - 312 FWHP hauling 3700 pounds without you sitting in it, musclecar? Yeah ok.

I'd buy a V6 Camaro in a heart beat!! The looks simply can't be replaced by anything on the road today!!

With my Z06 in the driveway...a v6 Camaro would be perfect!!!
