Yes, and sadly, it appears generally in this case, to be normal under the current conditions.

Yeah...that's not going to happen. The V8 will be marked up for years.

don't think so!
V8's won't be done till October...and that's just the preorders. Once GM starts to market this car you''ll have to account for a lot more V8's. They won't sell for lower than MSRP because they'll sell for MSRP and higher.

It would be nice if GM had control of the middle man but they don't, dealers are going to get as much money off this car if they can. If you have a product that's going to sell instantly, why would you sell it for less than MSRP?

Chevy Jim - That car may just contradict that statement - it looks plenty fast enough. But it does depend on what's under the hood.........which in this case is what?

I understand those who are on a lease and can't wait much later for their car, but I am told by my dealer that GM has a provision to extend leases. I bet they will be more than happy to do so when considering you are purchasing a Camaro. And then there are all kinds of people keeping the pot stirred with "guesses" as though they really have an inside track and/or know absolutely what will happen. CamaroScotty and FBodFather are our best source of truth, and as I view this thread they are forced to continually respond to the same vicious rumors they have tried to squash in earlier post. I am thinking that watching the stock market has less intensity than this subject on camaro5.com! Better yet, for those of us that think we know the future on this subject without having true inside visibility, let's go play the market. Maybe we can make a significant difference in the market with our guesses as well.

I have such respect for CamaroScotty and FBodFather for remaining calm and professional while dealing with the continuous attempts to beat this dead horse. Actually, this analogy may not be the best one as, although this horse is dead, it refuses to fall down! Let's calm down, get positive, and listen to what our true sources are saying. As for Oshawainsider, I may be wrong but, I have not seen anything from him in several days. Perhaps he has posted since then but I have not seen it. I am wondering if he received a request to be discrete in his delivery of information?

I apologize if I have offended anyone as I do not mean to.
Well said.

The allocations are not divided between v8s and v6's. So, if your dealer has any allocations, they can choose to use them on v8s or v6s. That being said, all 20,000 of the orders should be filled by the end of 3rd quarter '09 but constraints in the future could hamper that.
