When does the 2011 ordering start? - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

Can anyone say when they open ordering for the 2011 model? They switched the models of the 4th gen sometime in July or August if I recall. I suspect maybe June or July of 2010 they would open the computer for sold orders.

they're talking 15-18 months of MY2010 production, so i'd imagine that's the general ballpark, but leaning more towards august/september

Sorry I have now idea but, GM needs to worry about getting the 2010 model out first.

No. They missed their 2010 opportunity with me. I'm looking at when the next chance is and see how that fits in with my plans.

you do know that most MY2010 cars don't come out for another 7-8 months, don't you? it will be almost next fall before you can order a MY2011

It's an honest question that I don't know the answer too either. I would be interested to know as well...and not because I am disappointed in GM. More along the lines of ....letting GM work out the kinks of this first year model (I know am I not the only one that has stated this) It is no disrespect to the passion GM has put into this vehicle, but when you release up to 80-100,000 vehicles there will be minor problems and bugs...(hopefully nothing major). Also getting more options available for MY11. Has it not been said that the vert will be either very late 2010 or 2011? HUD will be available in 2011.. along with any small perks that may not be included with 2010.

He's got a good question. A lot of people are weary of cars made in the first model year. Even though the Camaro has been rigorously tested and adapted to environments from around the world, there is no convincing some people to get the car in the first model year. I'll probably order mine between late 2010 and late 2011.

i won't be getting a 2010 either, but that's because of financial reasons. if i could afford it right now, i'd have no problem buying a first-year camaro.

considering these quotes below, i don't think either of our statements in the first part of my post are what he's getting at

It's just funny because with all the delays and tiny bits of information from GM there is no way to tell when the '11 model will start. There's almost a full year span that you could place a date and it could come true.

my dads that way, he swears all 1st year cars from all companies will always have the most amount of bugs and recalls

im just not ordeing/buying one untill i drive it to make sure i will like it
