Golf ball size dent in hood

You can only see it at a certain angle. But when inspecting it further, there appears to be a slight discoloration along a very small crease and a mark that might buff out. The dent itself is easily accessible from both sides, smoothing it out shouldn't be an issue, the paint however, has me freaking out. What would be the best way to go about it, touch up, sand just the spot and paint over the entire hood, or does the entire hood have to be sanded down, and what would that run a person?

Of course the damage had to occur saturday afternoon when all the body shops are closed until monday.

It isn't a deep dent, but at certain angles you can see the light reflecting differently. I had a smaller ding on the door removed this summer for $40. So the dent itself isn't what has me worried, it is the paint that is keeping me up at night. I see no way the discoloration(darker than the surrounding paint) can be fixed without repainting. I am thinking when the dent is fixed the paint might chip.

$440 to $650 were the estimates. Went with the 440 since the procedure was exactly the same, and I have never been real impressed with the local chevy dealers body shop. Plus the 440 did my truck after the building it was stored in was hit by a tornado, 4 years later and the truck still looks new.
