If thats outrageous..then I guess a loaded 2SS Camaro is just plain crazy?
I picked up a base 5.0 with 3.73 rear as the only option for 27.5. With IL tax, title, plates I was out the door at 30k even.

I've owned three 4th gen f-bodies in the past and was seriously considering a '10 SS, but this new Mustang is definitely going to give GM some competition. They're both great cars, and the prices are competitive. I remember in '02 I could pick up a stripped down Z28 for 22k. Considering that was eight years ago, I'd say that if you factor in inflation prices haven't really changed much.

I remember reading all the popular mags in 1999 and they said you could get a base LS1 z/28 for under $20k. They called it the bargain of the century.

Typically with domestic car clubs V8 guys are generally more entusiastic about joining than V6 guys. That would explain your skewed numbers.

I remember when everyone on this forum said the 5.0 wouldn't handle more than ~500rwhp. Oh how things have changed.

Pretty impressive. Although, I don't if anyone is running a KB with that high of boost on an otherwise stock LS3/L99.

Not everyone. I and a few others pointed out the changes to the previous 4.6 rod design and massively improved head flow that would allow the 5.0 to make a lot more power safely. That was more of a joke than a statement meant to start an argument though, so don't take it too seriously. Friendly jest.

You can do wonder's with Ti-VCT like run higher boost. That's how you can get away with filling the tank with 87 octane on a 11:1 5.0L and still make 400whp. Its all in the cam timing and once tuner's know how to control them you can make all kinds of power. I'm a little jealous that im stuck with the old school 5.4L.
