??? Not entirely understanding your post. But I will be one of those that upgrades (to a Z28, hopefully) as soon as I'm done with school and I can start making some REAL money. Right now, the V6 is "good enough" and the V8 will be "better than enough"! |

You know what, we all know that the v-6 will never be as quick as an SS given the same amount of money sunk into both cars. I don't think anyone ever argued against that point. We should still be able to enjoy our cars without pompous braggarts imposing their psuedo-elitism on us. If you need money to buy bragging right then you really have no bragging rights to start with. Good for you if you have a 400+ Horsepower monster. All I can say is that if I had your vehicle, I wouldn't be caught dead competing or comparing myself outside of the arena that I was relegated to. I.E. (You don't take your Yacht to an airshow)

I'd bet money a V6 runnin low 13s or 12s on the track gets as many or more looks as any V8 running 11s or 10s on the strip. Some of you keep wondering why anyone would do mods to the V6? Well, I think I can also ask you...why in the world would you mod the V8? You know good and well that unless your hittin the track every chance you get, you'll never use the max potential of all that power on the street. So many V8 guys doing superchargers, and full exhaust and suspension....why? You could've had a lower end new, or nice used Corvette or GT500 or whatever else is comparable. Don't give me the excuse that every V8 guy modding their car is hitting the track, cause it just ain't true. I'd bet same percentage of V6 guys modding up their car in here are going to the track as compared to V8 cars. Another thing, I know good and well I'd be spending as much or more on V8 mods, as I have done/have planned for my V6.....so the savings are still as great as the difference in purchase price between the two options (which in my case, was between 6 to 7 grand). Again, I'm not hatin on the V8....they're awsome....but can't we just get over this V6 vs V8 thing and kill this D@mn thread already.

I love my v6 and I do plan on doing mods to enhance it lol.. I know lots of SS owners that are putting 5K plus in mods so really its a personal choice. AT the time I didnt want a huge car payment so I build my car they way I wanted for less... Do I miss the power of the V8 Yes and no...When would I get to race it or go 150 down the street. Do I miss the rumble of the V8 Yes I do and so my first mod will be the exhaust system lol.. Other then that I love how it drives plus it still gets the looks and compliments all the time even a year later. I kind of wished I went with a manual
.. but the S / M tap shift are pretty fun..I think the best part will be when I get the stripes painted and some ghost images put in the stripes

First off, some people do you use all their power on the street. Street racing stories are just not allowed here, so you won't read any here. And no, I'm not condoning it. Just saying that some people do indeed use their max potential on the street. Second, you can use your power on the street and not race. I've driven my car to California and back. You can bet when I was out in the desert and could see just open road for miles, I had a little fun. ![]() Thrid, it's not all about speed. I LOVE the sound of a rumbling American V8. And some of my mods were done to get the 'right' sound for me. Just cruising around I love the sound of my car, and I do get my share of compliments and questions about the sound of it without driving it like a mad man. |

Not to go off topic, but both of you guys have nice looking Camaros. I love that Aqua Blue Metallic color, I can't believe GM cancelled it. I've actually only seen one driving around, and it looked sharp. I'm hoping to see one at a meet, so I can see it up close.

11 pages... I have just as much love for my V6 brothers and sisters as I do for my V8 brothers and sisters. I rented a CGM 1LT and I loved it, I bought a RJT 2SS and I love it. The Camaro is a great car no matter what engine it comes with LLT, LS3, L99, or LSA/9

I don't hate on the V6, but I get annoyed when someone with a 2LT/RS walks up to me and says "Wow, I wish I could have afforded to get an SS like yours." I usually ask how much they paid. I get told they paid $34,000. I just laugh and tell them that's $4000 more then what I paid for my 1SS.
