Red face Camaro = Hockey Puck?!?!

Hi All,

To jump straight into it, This is my first winter with Jade (Manny V6). Normally I'm fine with driving in STL Winter but I keep hearing bad things about driving Camaros (or any car of this caliber) in the Winter time. To make a long story short, Should I spend $600 (labor sucks) having a auto shop put a new clutch kit in my 92 Toyota Camry OR Spend $$$ buying some new Tires for Jade?

Opinions? Help? Carpools?

Argh

New tires! On perfectly flat packed snow with no buildup around the tires those p zeros just spin! Even on asphalt. I got perelli snow and ice and didn't have any problems. I also added a couple hundred in the back.

With some winter tires your V6 should be just fine. But if I had the option to drive another car for the winter, I would. Winter destroys cars.

fix the camry. seriously

last year the camaro got so bad in the snow i had to leave it on the side of the road one morning and call a taxi to get to work. SUCKED...not to mention all the salt/sand on the road throughout the winter. the wind blows the salt up against the side of the car. i couldn't believe how ugly my car got over that winter.

i don't know how your snow is in STL but i imagine it's as bad/worse than connecticut. look into getting that camry fixed. if you run it into the ground who cares. give your camaro the winter off you'll be so much happier you did it. i'm currently looking to spend a couple grand on a beat up old truck or something (durango!) as a second car.

Fix the camry. Snow tires will work great on the Camaro but idiots driving in the snow and road salt will ruin your camaro. Having a winter beater is a good thing.

What is snow?

Live in L.A. Drive my Camaro year round. Don't know what snow is unless it's that white stuff I ski on in Tahoe. Use my Envoy for those trips.
Kiding aside. Buy a used beater 4x4 with offroad tires and put Jade in the hanger for the winter.

Wow, you guys are awesome, and wicked fast, I thought I would throw a poll up to be fair but it seems like fixing the Camry is the best way to go. Now to find a good place to hide Jade for the winter lol Anyone have a REALLY big safe?

THANKS C5 Fam!!

mustangs are made for snow. no just kidding, they are made for the junk yard.
I cringe every time I see a Camaro touch snow, it just shouldn't be. get rid of that toyota before the pedal sticks and kills you, and get an AWD equinox or something for the winter. thats what I was going to do, but I got an Impala instead, it should serve as my winter counterpart quite well after I get my hands on the Z28 next year (hopefully)

I'd fix the Camry, I'll be dropping $500 or so to fix my '91 Honda Accord so I have a winter rat .
