I like how you two keep running around and not answering specific questions. In my opinion making a 1000HP CAMARO (V6/V8) is probably not the easiest route to go. There are other cars out there that can their with less trouble. But some people do it because they like the challenge. Just like people who run their first marathon, climb Mount Everest, etc...

Back to the question though. What makes a V6 Camaro a Poser? You suggest it because they 260 HP Camaro (by the way that is at the wheels on a stock M6) and think it is fast when there are V8s with 650 (at the crank with a supercharger). What specifically makes them a poser??? Sounds like they are being honest and not making claims that their car is more than it is. Doesn't sound like a poser to me. If they start putting SS badging or decals that say 650 HP on a car that only has 312, then yes I would agree they are a poser.

I officially cant stand Pontiac GTO guys. At least the couple ive come across. Yesterday I was driving home in the rain on the 101 freeway and there was decent traffic. This guy with an ear piece in a GTO looks over at me and punches it only to go up 3 car lengths and eventually have me pass him. After I passed him he punches it again and Im looking at him each time like really? IDIOT! youre in rush hour traffic in the rain.

Nothing wrong with a V6.
Nobody needs to justify to anyone else why they made that choice.
Apparantly some V8 owners just feel the need to trash talk other people.
Who knows why?
Somebody probably stole their pudding cup as a kid and they never got over it.
Personaly I am really looking forward to the new challenger V6.
I don't think it's gonna close the performance gap to the Camaro or Mustang but it is definately gonna narrow it.

Let's use the computer analogy. Would you say today's lowend computer chips are faster than the "performance" chips of yesterday?

Of course.

BUT to call the lowend computer chip a "performance" chip in today's world is just silly. That's the point MikeSS is trying to make (or atleast I think he is).

It's the same as trying to label a 312 hp car the prestigious badge of "musclecar"...

The v6 was primarily marketed to the same crowd who buy v6 mustangs, and take a portion of those profits...can you guess the type of people who buy those?

Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with it! 312hp is nothing to laugh at! I mean, for $23k, I wouldn't have anything other than a camaro!

The v6 is meant for people who can't handle, OR don't need that much power. That is why certain people buy the v6 over the v8.

It's a paradox that the people who didn't "need" that much power... still want to label their car a true musclecar. That is what is funny about it.
...
Again with the changing arguments and avoiding answering the question! Really, marrketing and computer chips? You said I'm a poser because I bought the V6. Let me explain, my intention wasn't to buy a Camaro at all. I had enough saved for the Grand Sport vette and would have been able to get the Z06 early next year. My first mod was going to be to paint it British Racing Green (Green Cars and Red Trucks, it's how I roll). I've driven the ZR1, Z06 and Grand Sport and believe me even the 120K SS doesn't compare to the first two. But I also drove the SS and LT Camaros when I found out about the Synergy. I went home and read about the LLT engine and saw the potential and challenge the combination of new engine/ECU offered. I bought it. I may buy the Z06 in a few years, but not because it has a V8 -- because I love the car.

How does any of this make me or any other V6 owner a poser?

LS3 was the only option for me...that doesn't mean I "hate" V6 owners. I simply wanted the SS on my new muscle car.

alot of the hate comes from people vaildating their purchase and a ego trip and if you peel back 80% of those haters its all going to boil down to " I payed more for my car and so therefore im superior" angle.

Me too. Here I thought I was living a good honest life only to find out I'm a poser because I love the V6 Camaro. Of course, I would be just as upset if someone called me a hater for talking about how much I love the power of my V8.

It's good to see the public education system working so well in Michigan.
