Why do you want a Camaro ad? is it going to change your mind on whether you are going to buy it or not?
Why spend money on something that is going to be a waste of money? The Camaro sells just fine without any sort of ad campaign.

I guess you do have a good point. Everybody pretty much knows about it. The only thing I can think of is the clueless person who has just come into some money and is watching tv and sees one and thinks "I really want that."

I think anyone who is in the market for a car similar to the Camaro, and has the money has probably considered it.

So you're right.

I'd still love to see one though

Here we go, young guy (20 something) is at the stoplight with 3 honeys (girls) driving his 69 Camaro. Old dude (50 something) pulls up beside him with his 2011 Camaro. Young people in 69 gawk at 2011. Old dude and young guy give each other the head nod and both pull off.

I just like car ads. Advertising Camaros--

gets folks in the showrrom door. They may leave with a Malibu, but a sale is a sale. No one is going to buy a car strictly on a TV ad but if it gets them thinking about that brand then it's done it's job.

My favorite car ad of all time. Many years ago Jerry Della Famina (one of the best ad guys ever in the business IMHO) wanted to get the contract for this new car company, Toyota. So he goes to their board meeting with an ad showing the Toyota and the words beneath it, "From the people who brought you Pearl Harbor". Obviously that ad was never used, but he won the account and did great work for them.

Car ads are fun, don't get all pious about whether Camaro needs to advertise or not.

That George Washington ad campaign is great, except for one major flaw: The Challenger is made in Canada which, in that period, was a fully supporting colony of the British. In fact, many British campaigns during the Revolutionary War were launched from Canada. Technically, its a bit hypocritical since Canadians now build the car they say helped launch America.

Camaro should avoid that type of campaign. Am I nit picking?
