You should be able to run forever with single digit boost if you don't lean out. When you start testing double digits you may have problems unless you have a great tuner (of which there are many on this site)
Dont think ima go double digits without forged internals... thats crazy

Actually double digit boost levels have been done for many years on stock motors. You should search out the Corvette forum and LS1tech. Remember, these motors have been around for awhile, the forum hear is just trying to catch up.

We just finished a 2009 Z06 Vette(stock 427) which has higher compression and we run twin turbo's at 10lbs with no worrying.

With the way the OP types I expect him to blow it up, but yes keep it under 10psi. Run meth for safety.

You might also consider the power made as well as the boost level. 10psi on a stock motor should last longer than 10psi on a cam, bolt ons, meth L99. The hp difference between the two could be well north of 100hp.

Not sure. Yeah it's a big number, but how often do I hit 6,500RPM? On average it's more in the 9-10 range with a good but conservative tune.
