NOW HEAR THIS!
THE NAME "CAMARO" MEANS 'FRIEND, PAL, OR COMRADE' -- Let us NEVER forget it Why is there even a thread such as this on a Camaro enthusiast site? ![]() ![]() ![]() Isn't the whole idea of the Camaro community to celebrate the car that brings us together? I have seen the thread title on and off for the past month or two, but didn't click on it - until a couple of people told me about it......... ........and I cannot believe such venom! ![]() ![]() ![]() To the Trolls - go find somewhere else to spew your venom! To everyone else - let's stop the foolishness of trying to compare the V6 to the V8 - Each person buys the Camaro that fits their purpose. We do not all have the same purpose. Some want flat-out performance. Some want great looks and great fuel economy. Some could care less about quarter-mile times. If I want a white Camaro LS and you want a Black SS/RS - that's fine - each of us has different wants and needs - but there's no need to bash me because I want a white LS and you feel that everyone should be driving a Black SS/RS. When I was a young man, my first new Camaro was a Camaro LT (1973) (yes, I'm ancient...so sue me!) Did I want a Z28? Yes! Could I afford it? Not at the time! My next Camaro was a 1974 LT -- Did I want a Z28? NO - Could I afford it - yes. But I wanted something for long trips - and the LT fit the bill. Amazing how 'wants' can change in one year! I did not read thru the entire thread -- so I'm not accusing any particular person or persons - and the only people I'm calling out are the trolls and those who do not drive Camaros (....some are one and the same) Now - let's close this ridiculous thread before it causes any more hard feelings!!! Let's try 'The Golden Rule' - -shall we???

I get a couple of compliments every weekend and lots of looks all the time. Only three asked what engine I had, one was an old vette guy who only liked v8's, one was impressed with the v6 and one said the same as he knew what the 6 could do and was plenty for the street. that last being the whole point in my view we all should remember, the v6 is for the everyday driver and the street and has enough oats for the job and to sell cars and keep the line going, if not it's byby Camaro. I will say one thing to the SS owners, and this is just an opinion but I would keep my SS if I owned one because if this new crazy 35 mpg law takes effect in 2016 then kiss the v8 goodby for most of us and a turbo v6 will be the top engine in cars like this and others. |
