Yep, we laugh, but it's true. Local counties get SIGNIFICANT income from tickets.

I heard from from a coworker's cousin, a Florida highway patrolman, that down here in the panhandle, when "they" see a new fifth gen Camaro, their thinking is that, sure fast car, but demographics are such that the owner is likely an older, decent, hard working member of society, less prone to breaking traffic laws, etc.

So in the original poster's situation, "I believe" the LEO was following the "oh, easy target to increase Plymouth County tax coffers".

Quite sad really.

But you DID get used to it. Tint can limit sun damage over time, and it looks good.

I agree with getting legal tint though.

Alrox, I have a question for you. This is not meant as an attack, but as a legitimate curiosity:

I have seen you post in a lot of the LEO threads and you always seem to side with the officer. I agree that most LEOs are good guys, just doing their jobs... but don't you think it's possible that every once in a while it's just some fat-boy who got bullied in high-school and is on a power trip now?

Again, I'm not meaning this as a personal attack--just curious about your particular viewpoint and your background. I hope this doesn't offend, it's certainly not meant that way.

It's reasons like this why I didn't even bother to think about tint. RI is the worst. The Max you can do legally here is 75% which makes it pretty much pointless.

We have the same problem here in Houston! You would think the cops would focus on all of the banks getting robbed instead of hassling us folks that are working for a living! Total waist of tax payer dollars! gEEZ!

same thig i was thinking

So, I read here all the time talking about tint laws are for cops safety. Well, I have no issue with that but there should be no double standard. Trucks can be pretty much a blackout on the rear windows still being legal but cars cannot. These states say it is ok because the dealers make them this way. WTF???
