I don't think so at this point. I have heard nothing about releasing it for the 2010 right now. The last thing I read it was only designed around the new GEN9 Onstar hardware.

Can't you just buy/upgrade to the new OnStar hardware?

Doesn't mean it won't work for the 2010.

My guess is it can do everything on the 2010 that DOES NOT interact directly with the car (ie. remote start or door locks). The other info like oil life and tire pressure onstar can request anytime from the car so I don't see why the app couldn't initiate the request itself. Technically speaking it should be able to do anything the onstar advisors can (so door lock can be controlled). The only thing that would never be possible would be the remote start I think.

Last post I saw regarding 2010 Camaro on the OnStar site was no.. Maybe that has changed or they will update the software at some point to work with limited function for the older GEN.

Is it just me or does this app scare the hell out of anyone else?

If it allows you to do whatever an Onstar rep can do to your car what's to prevent a hacker from hacking that app and using it to do whatever they want to someone elses car?

Not really. The only thing the app does is unlock or lock the doors and remote start the car if you have an automatic. They still have to have the key to the car to do anything.

Also from what I've read it's worthless to hack the app. The app does not store any personal information. Every time you start up the app you have to enter your Onstar pass code which is not stored on the phone when you close out of the app.

I just spoke to my service department and they told me it is a SOFTWARE update, not a hardware update. So you can apparently have the software in your 2010 updated to the latest OnStar platform and you will be able to use the iPhone APP.

Anybody else heard this?
