I've got to say that I'm sorry to hear this. At the same time, it is normal for any company that produces complex parts to try to resolve the complaint by replacing the part that has received complaints. Wanting GM to invest a new Corvette in a consumer with a transmission problem would be a waste of resources if every person expected this for every complaint. It is a shame that one car ruined your perspective of a company that makes hundreds of thousands of cars per year, most of which get near-perfect scores in prescreens and build reviews.

I always laugh when I see posts like these.

If what you said above is true, I can see why you won't wait for the Camaro... no loyalty. Sorry... but it is true.

I am sorry that you can't wait though. Good luck with the Nissan... BTW I never refer to them as Z's.

Your transmission was bad, and you wanted a brand new car? A re-manufactured transmission is still a brand new transmission, all major parts have been replaced new. It's even covered under warranty. This is ridiculous. I'm just going to go ahead and say it. You don't deserve a new Corvette, or a Camaro. Three years of patience, and you can't hold out a little longer? People like this make me sick to my stomach. Have your Z.

good. all this does is move me further up! sucks for you that you feel the need to cancel your order...

edit: just read the thread...why would you come on here basically bashing gm, saying youre buying a nissan, then say that you will just keep your order and the nissan, then just sell the camaro when it gets here? do you want an e-cookie?

Stupid decision are the only words that comes to mind. But it's your money and I'm sure you'll enjoy the z. However that person who buys your camaro on ebay will get more people to turn their heads while he or she drives it.

Sorry to hear your dealer wasn't familiar with the ordering process, and lied to you about the delivery date. GM has made this clear well in advance prior to the start of ordering. They should have known this.

I don't want to bash the alternative car. That's a thing of preference. There are a lot of great ones out there, although I agree that the Camaro will turn more heads.

Before you go judging me. Why don't you listen. I don't know about you but when I order a car, one with a $55k sticker I don't expect a problem. And when I haven't even left the lot with it I expect a new one. I own 3 Aamco Trans shops, and have worked on Vettes. The transmissions are rediculous to get out. The whole rear has to come out because of it's placement and design. And they are never the same because once you take the rear apart they are all over th road. Unless you have a GM robot in your shop that can torque the rear in your car simultaneously, than it isn't the same. Plus, cars are like women, I don't want them anymore, once they have been touched! Plus, when I have 5 GM models in my driveway with model years ranging from '05-'09 and another '09 on the way, I expect a car to be replaced. Don't think it is that unreasonable!

Cars are not always about speed. It's about the car communicating with the driver and the enjoyment you get from the car. There will always be mods to make a Z faster than a Camaro if someone wanted to, but that isn't what it's about. It's about enjoying your car. And, if I do decide to get one I'm sure I'll enjoy it, especially on twisty roads, if not I'll get something else nothing the ole mighty dollar can't fix!

Sorry, I call them Z's, last time I checked their emblem and signature was a letter Z, right? And, unfortunately everything I said is true, and the waiting process is really the last thing I'm choked up about it's the I've gotten while owning GM's lately!
