whatever, do what you want

All, I don't think it is crazy to ask for, at a minimum, a new transmission considering it was a brand new car. I think all of us would want the same thing. A reman-ed tranny in a brand new car isn't the right answer. So let's not bash anyone for that.

Coolest, what is crazy though is coming this far and not waiting just a little longer. I think you owe that to yourself. But again, your call. And I wouldn't be too surprised when you tell a bunch of Camaro nuts that you are buying a Z instead of the Camaro you ordered, especially when you are still getting the Camaro only to sell it.

When I got my '05 Vette my brothers '05 Mustang turned more heads when it came out, but in the end he was still driving a Stang while I was driving a Vette, so this doesn't really matter!

There is no judging needed you started a topic that said "I am canceling my order" then halfway into it you say that you are going to keep it and sell it to someone. Then you start flexing your epeen and telling us about your transmission shops you own and how many new GM vehicles you have(like anyone cares). My guess is that you just like attention.

GM wanted to throw in a Remanufactured unit and call it even, I said no way I want a new Vette!
Are you serious? They're not going to give you a new car unless you're having dozens of problems with random parts of the car. If the only thing wrong was a bad tranny, then it's quite commonplace to offer the solution they did. Nissan would've told you to go **** yourself (gt-r...).

The irony is that the OP is so concerned about GM's quality, yet he can't stand the fact that GM's taking the extra month to make sure the car is of the best quality possible.

And whoever told you that you would have your car by May is an idiot. Nobody knew when the cars would be delivered on the first day of ordering. Even now, nobody really knows when the first cars will be delivered.

But whatever. In the end, it's your money. Only after you buy that nissan, it's Japan's money.

I'm thinking of pulling out myself. I can't get my Suppliers Discount($3400 savings), there may not be ABL, the shorter stripes, no red seats yet, first year problems. Stuff like that.

I am new around here but just wanted to add my 02 cents. Buy the Nissan and when the Camaro comes in the Nissan is the one that will be on ebay.

Everyone come and bash me, I really could care less at this point. All I've said is I'm thinking about it. I'm not at the point of no return, yet! It is easy for all of you who have not had so many problems with GM, in just one year, to bash me. But, in the end we are all human beings so peopel coming and saying people like me are stupid, or I'm not loyal because I'm backing away from a company who has given me a sour taste in my mouth. We all have our preferences. The truth is all the cars we talk about on this forum are, for the most part, great cars, even though we have a bias towards one over the other. Yes, I love the Camaro, but unforunately the company who produces the car is just really up in the air in my eyes. I mean they have more problems than just getting their Camaro out, their might not even be a GM soon, although it is highly unlikely, there are alot of things up in the air with this company.

I realize they are taking their precious time to get a great car out so that people won't have the problems I've had. But, a couple of months could be a deal breaker for me. I'm not going to miss having a sports car in the Summer, because GM couldn't get their product out in time. When you have and market a launch of 1st Quarter 2009, people that ordered first should have their car no later than earlt 2nd quater of '09. It isn't our fault GM couldn't use their heads and prepare for a V8 demand! They have had plenty of time with resources liek our site to do the math for the last 3 years!

So, the fact that I may want to bring my money to a company that, in my eyes, is in better shape right now shouldn't be such a big deal! But, like I said I'm not at a decision yet. Most likely I will get another car, but I wouldn't be shocked if I waited either. Or maybe bought a car till the day it comes in and trade it in too! I don't know I have options, I was just expressing how I feel!

Not exactly, I'm sorry if I came off that way. I was saying I own the shops to cite that I know when a tranny is bad or not, like in a Vette! And the fact that I own a bunch of GM's citing that I am a loyal customer to GM. If I was here to impress and get attention I would've told you about my Porsche, Just kidding!

I read the thread...So...You're gonna cancel your order cuz you waited long enough you're gonna get a z, and you're pissed cuz your vette has a bad transaxle, and you're gonna keep the camaro but sell it to some rich dude with money, but you might wait...We'll see. Is that right?
