GREAT, sounds like we have a number of cars in transit. My went (4200-Shipped) as of yesterday. I stopped by the dealer at lunch to touch base. We have to have front plates in Missouri, but I told him no dealer decals or dealer plate brackets. He says the GM air intake is back ordered 6 months and will take another month. No big deal, they do have my exhaust upgrade and sill plates in. I'm most anxious about getting the rally stripes painted right.

I was disappointed that they knew nothing about tracking the trains.

Now we just need some VIN's
No doubt! I can't wait!

I fell asleep last night before Trevor asked about colors - I'm getting CGM. Gotta have a stealth mobile to go with those super-bright IOMs!

Congrats to everyone who's got their new baby on the way!

Those of you who are about to take delivery on a new SS - make sure to tell your dealer to put only premium gas in the tank. Just in case your not already filled in on this, here's why:

Both the L99 and LS3 come with knock sensors that can read low octane detonations. If low octane is detected, the ECU automatically switches to the low octane fuel table. This robs the motor of substantial power. Once that happens, the ECU is supposed to occasionally switch back to the high octane table to see what happens, and stay there when high octane fuel is present.

However, lots of SS owners have been reporting that the ECU never actually switches back to the high octane table once low octane detonation is detected. There is a work around for this, called a 'fuse pull', that you can find in the 'Exhaust and Bolt-ons' threads here at Camaro5:

http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...ight=fuse+pull

Hope I'm not beating a dead horse!

def. a good read. I know my dealer isnt gonna fill my tank with 93 so i told him not to fill it.

by the way, I called Jannetty and spoke to someone about Intakes and Tuners. Of course he said most of the CAIs are pretty close but he said the most popular one being sold is the Cold Air Inductions CAI. Didn't really have a reason as to why, just said theyve been the most popular. Also said the SCT Tuner has been getting some good feedback.

Excellent! I've been so busy wringing my hands over not wrecking my new car in a snowstorm, I've been remiss with the CAIs.

I'll start digging again tonight once I wrap up the last of my work.

The wait is driving me crazy! I ordered the car on 08/24 and didn't see status 2000 until 10/05. Now, I'm waiting for a VIN since my TPW is this week! Two days left but still nothing. Keeping my fingers crossed!

I'm with ya - ordered mine on 8/12 - also CGM! Maybe they just needed a few months to mix our paint?

OUR TIME WILL COME!

Thanks man!! The wait is starting to mess with my head.

As far as CAIs go - no one seems to have a bad word to say about any of them, and they all seem to get a from owners.

A link was posted in one thread that takes you to an article by The Horsepower Junkies on just this subject. Haven't read it yet, but here goes:

http://thehorsepowerjunkies.com/vehi...the-camaro-ss/

Hope it's useful - I'm lookin forward to it!

Edit: Just finished reading what the HP Junkies had to say about CAI for the SS. Now I see why CAI Inc. intake owners are so enthusiastic! Makes for a great read.

Can someone explain this. Our camaro was marked as shipped (4200) yesterday and when I look this morning its back at 4B00. Here is the history. Doesn't seem like camarotracking.com know exactly what is happening with this car. Help!

Becky answered this on the 10/18 thread. The bayed is probably a different train or depot yard that your car is getting switched to. As long as it doesn't stay in a (4B00 - Bayed) status for more than a day or two; I would think your baby is on the move.
