I use the same. Works quick and easy. Wipe it on, let it set for a short time and wipe it off. My flat black vinyle stripes look great. The wax holds up well also. Just do it. I picked mine up at LOWES home store. Most auto parts places will have it. It's easy to find and simple to use. |

i bought some of this stuff based on something i read in this forum. this stuff has ruined my stripes. they are chaulky and i can see every move my hand made over the stripes. im going to the auto parts at lunch today to try and find some vinyl restorer or something to keep them from drying out further.

That stuff will haze up and look like hell if you have already put something like Rejex on the stripes.

i wrote that down and ill pick up some if i see it. thank you.
my fiance works with a lady whos husband puts on wraps and stripes. she told him exactly my situation and he recomended rubbing alcohol followed with armor all. i know it sounds a lil off but i did it real quick at lunch and so far WOW. they look awesome. ill have to wait and see long term but im relieved that they look better. i made up for leaving to go to lunch early by coming back late. that squares us up i guess. |

I like the look of the 1le with the black hood wrap but maintenance wise I have no idea... So if you get a stone chip (which will happen :( ) do I have to use a matt black touchup paint? or wait to replace the entire hood wrap if it get really bad? Also, would I use the turtle ice on the entire hood wrap?

According to 3M instructions : "We do not recommend any polishing or wax product for the matte or textured films."

I have textured stripes. I think theres another post where Dylan says to only use water-based vinyl cleaner/protectant. In my case, I would be afraid to use anything that is pasty, since it would forever lock itself into the texture. Anyway, he advised NO wax for vinyl stripes.

I'd think one of the nano coatings would be better than any wax if you don't want to chance clogging the pores of the stripe. I'm looking for something similar to protect the matte black hood insert on my ZL1. Dr Beasley's has one, but it's more $ than I'd like to spend.
