that's a fun app. kind of useless, but fun. I mean how often will I need to check my oil life from my cell phone. Maybe one day I'd need to unlock my car with the cell phone, but besides that, the rest is just a novelty.

just wait until they re-design the interior in 2012 along with give the SS a power boost. then you'll hear lots of "gm sucks, my car is not cool anymore" posts...

Gold Star for Borla S catback so far

Just got a call from my mechanic. He said the install and fitment was so slick he got a woodie. He's "testing for leaks" right now but because of my OnStar iPhone app I can see he's put about 10 miles on it. That's cool, he's just having a little fun. Pick it up in about 1/2 hour. Truly pumped. 1st mod completed. Next is painted stripes then a serious look at performance mods.

I know, seriously.... can't wait to see the reaction of some people over something that actually impacts their resale value.

such a bummer...wonder what the chances are they will add 2010!?..PLease onstar!!

Wish I had it some people already typed an email to onstar I did as well. You guys can read it and see what you think. If you don't like I'm sorry.

just emailing to let the company know that I'm very upset. Why is that we 2010 gm vehicle owners can not use the new onstar app for our vehicles? Especially those who own the new camaro I feel as if this car was what created the turn around of good things to come for gm. Now we are getting left out? If you go to the camaro5.com forums the first thing you'll see is the new app for the android and iPhone. Alot of people are upset about this including me. I would really like to have the chance of using this app. I'm sorry if I may sound rude but this is how I feel. Thank you

Being sarcastic there... just go back and read through some of the posts, it's pretty funny how upset people are getting. Maybe I should have made that even more ridiculous sounding??

not compatible with 2010 camaro WHY

soo whats the reason its not compatible with the 2010 camaro? is it the computer in the 2011 camaro is different. is it just licenses with google and camaro or what. but what is there reasoning behind not making it compatible to people that already have the car!

I could not had said it better, but I'll try.

The HUD that my Camaro doesn't have it's not calling me and e-mailing me every freaking day to ask me why I haven't renew my account, and asking me to pay $300 dollar a year the same that a 2011 Camaro owner will pay with frankly the only feature I care about onstar, I don't know why 2011 owners are being so smug about this instead of seeing that this is a total screw job by GM/onstar if you guys are saying " you should have bought a 2011" then what are you going to say when the interior is upgraded, maybe a indash navigation "you should have bought a 2012-2013?"

If you believe some of the folks on the thread, they did this on purpose to piss off their customer base. They hate 2010 owners and want them all to sell their cars and get 2011s.

You know what, they're probably right. It's a conspiracy, the man is trying to keep you down. These Onstar guys probably killed Kennedy too.

Really?!? Screw job??? They said early on that is was for 2011 vehicles only. They also said they're working on it for the older gen vehicles and you too will get it in a few months. If it really was a screw job, they'd say they're not planning on supporting older generation Onstar customers. Sheesh people, relax.

They gave you onstar for free to try it out... if you don't like it, cancel it. Subscribe again in a few months if you want to unlock your car from 2 miles away. If you really can't wait, buy a Viper (or similar) alarm that does the same, is slicker, and doesn't have the monthly fee.

Didn't you 2010ers get onstar free for a YEAR too? I only got it free for 6 months. How dare they?!!?

LOL... Yea, as some have stated here they think it's a plot to get people to trade in their cars.. I don't agree. My point is there are some differences between the hardware in the 2011 and 2010 (as originally stated by OnStar) and it will take some software changes to allow for the app to work in the 2010 in a part or full function. Only the Onstar Techs and upper Management know the total truth behind the delay if it comes out at all for the 2010.

I just drove past my dealer that I got mine from and there wasn't a line of 2010 Camaros being traded in for 2011 models so I guess that theory is out the window

I do hope they introduce a version soon for the 2010. I would also like to see them continue to add new features like Alarm active to the display as well.

I'm still trying to understand why everyone is so up arms about the app not working on 2010 models.

Technology moves forward at an alarming rate. The OnStar control module in the 2011 Camaros is different to the 2010 models.

Therefore, the app has been developed based on the latest OnStar technology. That is how things develop. Companies are proud of their new technology and want to showcase it and that is what is happening here. They want to have something that separates previous models with a step forward.

And at the end of the day, it's an app. An application for your phone. That's it. It doesn't make the 2011 Camaros faster than a 2010, more comfortable or better handling...

It simply displays things on your phone, that if you have OnStar, you can access ON YOUR PHONE via the OnStar website or via your email. That's it.

2010 model year Camaro's were created beginning in 2009, until May 2010, when the 2011 model year production started.

Look at the jump from the iPhone 3G to the iPhone 4. There are a lot of things that 'don't work' on the 'old' phone that work on the new iPhone 4. My iPhone 3G phone isn't even 18 months old, but I also don't expect it to work like an iPhone 4. Technology just doesn't work that way.

Just like my 2011 Camaro 2SS/RS has HUD, it's an advancement, a change for the new model year, to offer something that wasn't there before, to showcase technology.

I hope that the 2010 guys DO actually get the functionality, so that they don't feel left out, but also realize that they were very fortunate to be the first one's with a Camaro and were able show that off for a whole year before us in 2011 crowd. That is something us 2011's won't ever be able to do.
