Is it possible to get this color combination, couple questions, input APPRICATED!
Hey guys, this fourm is awesome with answering questions, and 99 percent of you are great guys, anyway:
I'm buying a 2ss in a couple months time here, and i'm trying to figure out what color i want, my mind is set on doing a couple of things, however i've been up and down the chevey website and stuff, and cant find a color i would want so i have a couple questions for you guys: I would like to have a jinx blue, and phantom black car, however i know they dont offer these colors, does this mean i would have to buy the car in a basic color, and then take it too a custom paint shop? If i do have to take it too a custom paint shop, do paint shops have just about any color you'd want? What would a paint job cost about? I've heard alot of diffrent things, and im not getting desgins, just blue and black stripes in places, rough guess please.. What im leanin toward ATM as far as color is, just a regular black 2ss, but then i'd want to have green or a jinx blue type stripes on trunk, hood, and the gills where the back tire is, how much would just painting the green or blue on cost about since its just a few stripes? Last thing : can the paint shop i go too, paint my brake capsules and / or my chevy bowtie to match the exact color of the stripes? OK if you guys can answers some of them or all of them, i would be greatley appricative, any other information would be helpful Ps. is there anyway to order like a custom jinx blue/black car from a dealership? THANKS! |

another option would be to have the car vinyl wrapped in automotive grade 7 year vinyl. can customize it anyway you want and it typically runs around 2-3 grand for the job.
this will retain a perfect factory paint job underneath should you choose to go back or change it up in the future.

i would never take a brand new car (that i intend to drive) and paint it an entirely different color. No matter how much you pay, you will have a lower quality paintjob than the factory and it will cost a crap ton of money. Painting stripes is fine though and any place you take it too should be able to paint your calipers and bowtie no problem.

Hello,
A full color change; taking all your parts off so there is no prior color visible which is what I did will cost you from $10,000 to $12,000 dependant on the paint type and color you want. Yes, they can go with any color and scheme you want. I am partial to House of Kolor paints, they are gorgeous but are pricey because they are typically a multi-stage paint. Hope all goes well. Thanks, ps... Here are a couple of pics of the custom color:

Order the car in black. Any bodyshop worth its salt can paint ANY color of stripes on it. I always recommend the stripes be buried under the clear (which is expensive to do bmpr to bmpr)but to save some dough you can paint them on top of the factory paint. Which should cost a few hundred to maybe a grand at most. If you want the best job at the least cost...I'd only stripe the hood and trunk lid. That way they can clear over the stripes fairly cheaply. I would then have the gills painted over the clear(that way they dont have to clearcoat the entire Qpanel. Make sure they will warranty anything they do.
