Wrong.
3.15's are standard for the 5.0 automatics.
3.31's are standard for the 5.0 manuals and 3.55's and 3.73's are optional.

Why are these times so much better than any of the professionals times?

Because the "professional" runs were held at a different time of year, in different conditions, at different tracks. Better tracks, more experience with the car and much better conditions=better times for average drivers.

I don't know that any of these drivers getting these times could be considered "average", but I get what you're saying. And I'll add broken in motors to the reasons the times are getting better.

Did you forget about the motortrend times or are you one of those people that claim those are bs? These times are just as far from the best magazine 5.0 times as the 12.58 from NHRA stocker is from any magazine time for the camaro. Better weather, more experience in the cars, broken in engines, etc. On top of that, most magazines just run with gps v-boxes rather than at actual tracks. Places like ATCO will typically end up giving people better than magazine results.
