First drive in 5th gen camaro
Took my first spin today in a 5th gen camaro. L99, man these things are quick! What's with the throttle response though? I assume that's something a tune improves upon? Great car, tough to pick between this and a '11 gt.

Throttle response is due to it being automatic with active fuel managment.

Were you driving a new Camaro, used ? The throttle response on my L99 is immediate. Explain your question please.

Brand new off the lot, stock l99 2010 camaro.
It just felt like there was some noticeable lag between me flooring it, and the car going wide open. I thought I've read that tuning and CAI helps with this? |

I don't want to make it sound mechanically flawed, it wasn't hugely noticeable, I guess like the first poster said its the AFM and auto. Is it possible that the tune and CAI will make it any better?

I put an intake in my L99 at 300 miles. I distinctly remember thinking that it improved the throttle response. But, I don't remember it being unusually sluggish when it was stock.

CAI intake helps. Fly by wire throttle does fell different that may be what you are not used to.

Supercharger with only 6 1/2 lb's of boost will solve those problems, too, just sayin...

Most likely this too, I remember it being pretty responsive when I put it into manual and put paddled it down to 1st. Forgot to mention this.
I'll probably end up with one and add a tune and CAI and we will see from there. Thanks for all the info so far. |
