There are several hood up photo's on the thread "Road Trip in Victory Red Camaro" on photos forum. (Just scroll down towards middle and bottom photos)....No tower brace on the car though.

Why is this directed at 'Father? It isn't like he designed the prop' rod. Give him a break.

Nope, ram-air. Figure it would make a scoop about 3ft high and 4ft wide, all feeding into the intake. If only the power gains were greater than the induced drag . . . ah well. No free lunch

So your first job once you get your camaro is to:
remove the strut and cut a pair of short pieces of box stock to use as props, which show up in this photo http://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r...ecarengine.jpg of my brother's racecar as a small blue piece in the upper right hand corner of the pic. It's small, it's light and doesn't get in the way of your strut brace.

Oddly, when I was a Design Release Manager, the work of going from two to one gas strut for holding the hood open was done by my group. Benchmarking showed us that several major OEMs had already gone there so we did some work to prove it worked. Now you will find most GM Cars with gas struts use only one for the hood.
It works just fine.

![]() ![]() Well, I guess the aftermarket is just going to work a tad bit harder. I imagine that with as good as this chassis is that a STB may do more to add weight than actually enhance handling unless this thing is an all-out road racer/auto-Xer.
