Best alarm that uses CANMAX400 harness?

Hey guys, I just got my camaro last night but I have been on these forums for months, so I have seen the horror storeis of people's cars getting vandalized. So I decided I am definitely getting an aftermarket alarm. I want to get one that integrates into the car system using the CANMAX400 from xpresskit.com so that I can still use my factory FOB and I don't have to carry an extra. What I am looking for is basically to upgrade the alarm so that it goes off if someone touches the car and warns someone if they get too close (3 or 4 feet). There are so many viper, clifford, and python alarms that integrate with this kit but not very good descriptions on their sites.

Suggestions please?

Got the 9402 (I think) but, it could be a few weeks before i get serious about installing it.

The one thing that I thought is a little lame is that the paging transmitter also has the valet button and status light. All someone has to is unplug it and you have no paging.

I'm curious to hear what other folks are using.

since Viper, Clifford, and Python are all Directed companies, they are going to have similar tech. If you want to increase range of remote start, you'll need to go with one of the security/remote starts, but that wouldnt use the stock fob. the stock fob isn't going to give you much range, and would not take advantage of the 2 way function available. for paging. compare rage, number of aux channels and narrow your search from there

I don't care about the 2way paging or range. I am basically looking to upgrade the stock alarm so it goes off if someone touches the car, or gives a warning if someone gets too close. That is all I am looking to add. I don't need to add or change anything with the stock lock/unlock/remote start features or range.

I don't see it worthwhile to spend twice as much money just to have the 2 way paging feature. Onstar will be out with their app in the next few months which allows me to remote start and monitor my car from my phone anyway, so why pay extra for that now.

I think you may be looking for something like these. All ebay links

Alarm 1
Alarm 2
Alarm 3

But I don't know if they interface with the Camaro. If they do then I would get one as well

These are only motion sensors, i am looking to integrate to levels of security, shock sensors and motion sensors. any idea which shock sensors to get?

And does anyone know if this intergates into the canmax400?

The local shop down here wanted 300+ to install shock and motion sensors integrated using the canmax400....that seems very high to me

I'm not sure if you can actually integrate shock and motion sensors into the stock alarm... what they may have been selling you is an add-on alarm with those extras, and the installation. the canmax400 simply ties into the data bus for integration.
