If you are going for the highest amount of Heat Reduction, and keeping the tint as light as possible, check out 3M Crystalline tint. It is super expensive, but it is the very best at what it was designed for (maximum heat reduction, without darking out the windows ghetto like)
If I had to do it again, I would put 3M Crystalline CR40 all around, and CR70 on the windshield. |

it's all about the heat reduction in Fl, no tint is simply not an option. the same way you guys tuck your babies away for the winter, we must take precautions in the south so our seats don't reach egg-frying temperatures....

I went with 20 all around. Had 35 but after it was done I felt was too light for my taste. Luckily the guy was slow and didnt mind taking it right off and putting 20 around.

I just kept it legal and went with 35% on the Camaro. I had an '05 Colorado that had something around 20-25%% and it was nice during the day but made it really hard to see at night so didn't want to go that dark again. It was the first mod I had done the weekend after I picked up my Camaro and pretty much a must down here in the south to help with the heat/sun.

second, if you live where the sun shines over 300 days a year and the temperature hits 94 degrees every day for 6 solid months then you would be whistleing a different tune..... not to mention the havoc the sun will do to plastic and interiors. Not everyone gets "TINTS" to be cool

I'm at 15% all way way around to include the six inches on the top of the windshield. However, 35% is the legal limit. But, half of the patrol cars (city, county, and state) are tinted just as dark.

LOL there are really people who say window tint is lame? 11 so far. The camaro is tinted but my civic is not... I ROAST in the summer in my civic. ROAST! And, yes, the a/c works just fine in my civic.
I also think it's stupid when I can look "through" a car because it's not tinted. That's my opinion though. The only problem I've ever had with tinting is the crappy do it yourself kind I had on a Rav4 (I didn't put it there). It was bubbling and ridiculous to back out or in to anything. Maybe I'm just a window tint fan - I have it on my home windows to keep the sun out during the summer (and I will say I'm freezing early, however).

Check the tint laws for your state. I got 35% even though Ohio only allows 50%.
I think FL must allow darker than that though due to it being the sunshine state. I'd go to 20% if it was legal here. |

I'm not referring to ghetto tint, I'm just saying the legal limit is perfectly normal.

I have 36% ceramic tint all around, except for the windshield. On the windshield, I have 5% tint, 6" down (slightly below AS-1).
The front strip is *technically* illegal since it is below AS-1. The sides meter at 33% (36% + 70% factory [minimum]). They are 2% below legal; it was the lightest ceramic tint my tinters had. I doubt the police are going to nitpick 2%. There is typically a variance allowed, for exactly the reasons of meter tolerances, etc. I understand that figure to be right at 3%. |

Thats because patrol cars don't have to be legal; they're cops.
