My Camaro is a toy, and it will never see snow either, but I wanted this car to come with everything I wanted- so I went 2SS/RS.

The hud is also much cooler than I would have thought, I guess it just depends on how many toys you want your toy to come with

I got the 2SS/RS because I wanted the leather, 4-pack gauges, bluetooth connectivity, the better music system, and the ipod connection. I'm glad I did.

Cluster gauges are lame. No offense to whomever likes them, but extensively driving two cars with and without the gauges, I like the one without the gauges much better. They just get in the way and are pretty useless. Just my opinion and should not be taken to heart by anyone.

Also, while leather gets really hot in the suumer it also cools down much faster than cloth. I always find myself sweating in the cloth seats, but I'm fine in the leather seats as soon as they cool down.
But I wouldn't trade my 1SS for a 2SS.

I like the HUD and the additional gages and the electronics upgrades. OF those the HUD and additional gauges should be a + for your intended use. Don't care for leather either but love the HUD!

i know I have a LS but after spending time in a 2SS/RS I definitely like not having the gauge pack there. i use it as a storage place for change, gum, wallet, phone, etc... those gauges may look cool to some but they are pretty much useless..... just food for thought.

Leather seats was the reason why I bought a 2SS and the HUD was the reason why I bought a 2011 instead of a "lightly used 2010". As for the guage cluster, I never look @ it so I could live without it.

I dig the leather and heated seats, they are great on long trips to help with back pain ...

I agree with this statement with the following caveat - As long as you aren't wearing shorts.

To the Op - mine is a daily driver so I got what I wanted to live with for the next several years. I couldn't be happier with my choice.

Tell me about it I live in Fort Worth, but yeah never owned a car with leather seats, was just a figuring that they'd be hot in the summer. I don't have a garage so they'd be baking in the heat but I guess I could just cool them down with remote start, either way I got the 1LT and so far so good, just a personal preference I guess.

The connectivity package was a must for me. I needed hands free and iPhone/iPod integration. It's simply not available on the 1SS (but for some strange reason, it is available on the 1LT !!). I know you can add connectivity after the fact, but that is a pain, and I figured the leather was worth the increase.

At first I didn't care to get the C&C package, but the car they found for me had it anyways and I bought it with it, but oh man that package is so worth it. I really didn't think I'd be using it so much but I use some part of that package every time I drive, remote start is beast, radio controls on the steering wheel are handy, and bluetooth is just awesome, totally worth getting imo.
