Looks like the north route is getting a lot of votes. I doubt seriously if there's snow on the roads. There may be snow on the mountains, but the roads will be dry. It's been sunny, warm and dry in Cheyenne and Laramie. Always a risk this time of year, tho. Can be 70's in Denver and run into a snow storm up high in the afternoon. Still think we have no worries. Lets go, go, go. Meet up at Verns in Ft. Collins just like last year?

I went up 287 from Ft COLLINS to Red Feather and Crystal lake today and it was absolutely beautiful. Mid 50s. Only snow on hills that already dont see sun. Road completely dry.

Well since nobody is taking the bull by the horns I will.....Depart from Exit 240 Longmont exit on I25 at 8:30 am Saturday Morning. Meet at the Truck parking behind Mcdonalds. I 25 to Ft Collins and meet at Verns Resteraunt 4120 W County Road 54g, Laporte, CO (287 and hwy 14) 46 Min 40 miles so we should arrive ther...e by 9:30. Breakfast and talk till 10:30. Depart on Hwy 14 to Walden about 90 miles or 2 hours. Arrive in Walden around 12:30. Depart to Winter Park on hwy 125 75 miles or 1.5 hours arrive around 2:00 pm Hang out and have something to eat, walk around and enjoy the heat of the day. Depart Winter Park around 3:00 Arrive at I70 at Empire in about 40 minutes. And on into Denver 170 and 470 in about a half hour at 4:10 pm Total travel time 5hrs 55 min 266 miles. Conventional speeds of course. Total trip time including stops a little over 7 hours. Fun family trip and totally enjoyable drive with a Camaro. Wyoming folks can meet us in Ft Collins and travel to Walden then head home if they want. Southern folks can meet us in Winter... Park and Drive back. Denver Folks can do Longmont to Ft. Collins or Denver to Winter Park. Or they can make the whole journey from anywhere they want to catch on.....As I said this is the last fling of the year...I am going to enjoy the whole route and then some.....And hopefully since it is flexible many more members will join in for any part they can.

Anyone coming from the SOUTH? If so, I will be leaving the Parrys Pizza promtly at 730. Driving up north. Let me know if you will be there so I know if I have to wait for anyone. Anyone in Denver or north burbs, meet at Lone Star at 120th and I 25 at 8:00 and we will meet up with you. Plan on leaving promtly at 8:15 to head north. WWHHOO HOOOOO

Well, it is too warm to bother elk hunting, and the wife has things to do with work, so I won't be going to our cabin in the mountains, so...........

yeah, only 2 vehicles Mini and Camaro. Daughter does triathlons so I at least need to transport a bike. Plus stil travel to Casper 3-4 x a yr. They have a few out there that are pretty well hidden. Have to sacrifice somehow!
