I just died my stitching red this weekend. I used the same painters pen overhaulengines did (thanks for the tips by the way). Everything turned out great. I almost had a stroke when I made that first line as it looked like a mess but with a damn towel it wipes right off except for the stitching. I went back today two days later and noticed a couple orangey looking spots on the leather where I didn't wipe off good enough so I used meguiars leather cleaner and came right off. Didn't affect the stitching either. Anyone on the fence about this mod do it. It's just about impossible to screw up, extremely cheap, and looks fantastic.

Ok so I have noticed the dye starting to fade SLIGHTLY on mine, but it is only in areas where there is constant contact and rubbing and can be easily fixed by breaking out the dye pen again.

I just did mine today .
I used red "fabric mate" pens that i purchased at hobby lobby.
they cost $2 a pen and i kind of went over kill and bought 6 when i probaly could have only used 1 or 2 .

it took me and a buddy of mine a few hours. i think it turned out really well

we would draw a few inches , wipe it with a damp rag, clean it with a dry rag and then repeat ( i included a video )
the dye wipes off really easy

here are some pics along with a vid and feel free to ask questions
