I doubt Vince has cracked everything, but Cobb has been working on the Mazadas for about 4 years now and don't claim to have cracked it all either. He seems to be able to adjust the AFR and timing at will, so I think he's got the basics covered. Now he's concentrating on getting more fuel out of the DI setup...that's a new thing for GM tuners.

Exactly. He can can get you close, but close doesn't cut it in my book.

Not to start an argument, but are you saying only perfection will be worth it? I figure if someone can take a new engine not designed for FI with a new ECU and tune them to work with turbos he's done a pretty good job. That seems like more than the basics to me. Also, don't forget these ECUs appear to work quite a bit differently than others GM has used. They appear to automatically advance timing as much as they can do safely so no one will probably ever be able to have as much control as say they do on the LSX engines. That doesn't necessarily equate to a bad thing in my mind.

The STS is a rear-mounted turbo system.

It'd be mid-mount like their SS kit. See here: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=91275

I'm so confused! What exactly are people looking for in a tune that Trifecta is not offering?

Exactly what I was fixing to say.
Some people are looking for magic dust, and I'm sorry. There isn't any.
Vince is doing more than anyone else is willing to try to do. I don't believe he's done with it, but I'm not done with the car either.
Thursday my appointment is set. No tranny tune for me(6-speed manual), need to get rid of the CEL, adjust for shorter tires, adjust for a few mods, and get a nitrous tune. If it weren't for the nitrous and long tubes throwing the code I probably would deal with the rest as there isn't much to be had as far as horsepower(thank you Chevy for a good tune already).

To the op, I am anxious to see what you come out with.

Well, they want it to be as powerful as a Duramax, with MPG as good as a Prius, and to make the exhaust sound like a V8.

Oh, and it would be nice if he could tune so the oil never needs to be changed too.
