EDIT: Spike. You are completely and utterly correct on this one.

And to show my total agreement with you, I will quote myself so I don't have to type it again:

I think the cars in Detroit and Montreal look great, especially the VR. I can't wait to get mine with the factory installed stripes. I am not sure why people can't be pleased with the package that GM has given us. It isn't SUPPOSED to be just like a 1969, or a 1974, etc. It is supposed to be a 2010, aware of its heritage, but reinventing itself.

Not sure what painted stripes will cost but I think they are the way to go from what I have seen.

I paid $1,000 to have the stripes painted on my 4th gen. That was with the clear coat only covering the stripes. It looks very good. It would have been $1,800 to completely re-clear every panel the stripes touched. With my 5th gen, I'm going all out, no expense spared.

If that's the case, I'm very disappointed and would have my stripes done aftermarket, I really don't like the way they look stopping on top of the spoiler. That's about the only thing I've really been disappointed with on the 2010 Camaro.

Welcome to the "stop editing my posts" thread. And it doesn't even require any editing.

I have done a 180 on the stripe thing as well and plan to get mine, cgm, from the factory. They look good and are done right. I guess if you are loaded with all kinds of money you can do about anything to this car after market. I am going to keep mine original.
