Wow, LLT & low temp air

I took my nightly cruise tonight, about 35 deg and clear, I grabbed 2nd at 6800 and she got a little side ways, never did that before, this thing would kick my 67 SS 350's @ss......

Yep... and if it's it's clear the barometer is probably up to... so you get the benefit of both! Of course at 35 degrees you tires might not have the best traction... But I bet it was still FUN!!

I love driving when the air is cold. Old school numbers were for every 10 degree temp. drop was worth 1% horsepower increase. So when you run 35 degrees vs. 85 degrees it would feel like an extra 15 + HP change. (50 degree drop = 5% change in HP times 300+ HP = over 15 HP change.)

I noticed the loss of traction in colder conditions a couple of weeks ago, and yes, it was MUCH fun .... I just love this car more and more all the time, no regrets.....

I had a 1 to 2nd issue since new but changed my trans lube to amsoil syn,
now we're snaggin 2nd like old school

We can all be a bad influence to our children. I took my 12 yr. old son for a quick cruise the other night after doing a good clean up of the Camaro, inside and out. We stopped in the middle of a back country road, traction control off. I was telling him how I needed to warm up the tires when I was at the track. I showed him how it was done. Ended up leaving my mark for 20 feet off of both tires. SCRMING we have proven that we may not have posi but both sides will spin.

I've noticed this too as the temp has been dropping. So what is the "optimal" temperature. I know that as the temp goes down, the power goes up, but I have to assume that at a certain point, that either diminishes or becomes harmful on the car...

Yep.. it is definitely weird... In the waterbox I always watch my tires (did you notice my sideview mirrors were pointing at the ground? LOL) and 99.9% of the time only one tire will spin... But yet I did this:

I did notice this. When I tried to back out of the spot at the drag stripe. It didn't occur to me why your mirrors were messed up until after I got home. As I recapped the day and was thinking about how my tires spun, the lights went off and I said out loud now I know why his mirrors were messed up. Makes great sense to me.

I did notice too that on your first pass (as we told you) the driver side tire was burning up too.

And to further prove with photos (middle of the summer this year).
