Rear GM GFX Install Question

The upper edge of the GFX has numerous double sided tape points. The instructions use the phrase "wet out" start and the center and working your way around applying x amount of pressure.

Are they really meaning to use water and a bit or soap (like applying vinyl graphics) for a wet application, or is "wet out" just a phrase to describe the technique of hand pressure working your way to the edge

No don't apply water. Clean the area with a dawn dish soap and water to remove any wax etc. Peel and stick starting from the center working your way out. I taped the ends of the tape to the outside of the piece to make sure I didn't bury the tabs behind the piece. Apply pressure to bond the piece I taped it down for a day to make sure it bonded. Hope this helps!

Wet-out just refers to applying pressure along the 3M tape as you pull the stand of tape out. You do not use any water to apply the GFX.

Do you need to remove the entire rear bumper cover to install the GFX?

yes..it has to come off to remove the diffuser and crush/shock absorber unit

Just removed the diffuser today, those tabs on the top are so difficult to slap off, ended up using a heat gun to soften them up a little then they came out no problem.
