I'm flying out to Indiana this week to pick mine up from Lingenfelter (650 HP!!), who is doing some nice mods!!! I'll bring it home to a heated garage and drive it when there is no precip or salt on the road.

I couldn't put mine up for that long. Hell, I'll ride my Harley when it's 20 degrees out (Locally!!). Thats in a heated garage too!

To get back to the OPs question. When I put mine away for winter, I already waxed it last weekend. Then, I will put it in my garage, put dryer sheets in it (trunk, cabin, under the hood and by the wheels on the floor), and I will attach a battery tender. I will probably start it occasionally (not forgetting to detach the battery tender and take the dryer sheets out from under the hood) and let it run for 5 to 10 minutes. I am also considering some "flat stoppers" to park it on to help stop the tires from getting flat spots.

Wash, Wax, clean interior, oil change, carpet under tires (i use wheel dollies and carpet), battery tender, put in a little sea foam to stabilize the gas, fill gas tank, dryer sheets inside and steel wool in exhaust if worried about mice. I wouldn't start it up because it problably causes more harm than good since you will build up condensation that way. Thats just some of the things I will be doing

In New England I still drive my car in the winter but not in the snow storm. I wash her often and make sure she has a good wax before the snow flies. I understand why people would store their car over the winter but my intention is to get as much out of this car as I possibly can by enjoying it year round !
For those out there with the "I'm going to keep this car forever" answer, Have you ever kept anything for more than 10 years ? Some how I think 90 % have never kept a car for more than 10 years.
I have had my 69 camaro vert since the early 80s and have used the car off and on throughout the year and yes the car is still great condition. Amazing what a good wax and wash can do for a car.

Got mine sitting in the family barn with a cover over it. Lot's of boxes of D-con underneath for the pesky mice.

Mine's parked in the shop on rubber back carpet patches with cotton sheeting draped over it. Washed, undercarriage cleaned, waxed, vacuumed, leather and dash treated. Mothballs underneath, battery tender hooked up and rags in the tailpipes. I ran a jug of stabil through a full tank and another when I filled it the last time.
We live down in a little "holler" and the hill out we fondly call f__ker hill. Once there's snow, it lives up to it's name, swallowing rwd, fwd, and school busses in chains regularly. My husband can muscle his 2wd pickup up it most days which I find amazing. After a few wild bat-turns in my el camino, I invested in a 4wd truck for winter driving and have since parked my cars once snow hits.
Then once you get to the highway they use that de ice crap and sand and all sorts of Camaro-killing crud. My baby's parked until late March early April. I already hate winter.

I don't think the flat stoppers are needed. Just air the tires up to 50 psi.
Leave a note in the car as a reminder to air down.

A trickle charger to keep the battery full during the cold winter months. I just put mine away yesterday and have one on it. Otherwise, you realize the battery does lower power slowly and needs to be maintained.
