Winterizing Question

I was hoping to get some advice about what to do to prevent mice from getting into my garage/car.

Lay bait traps in the corner of the garage. Little suckers will croak before you know it.

I've seen a few people recommend moth balls and those dryer sheet thingies.

I was wondering how moth balls work...I would rather have the mice just stay out of the garage, rather than them being tempted to come in, that is, if the baits actually attract them in. In other words, I'm not 100% percent certain that they will come in...I just dont want to make the option more attractive for them.

I would also suggest putting some shop rags in your tail pipes but don't forget to remove them in the spring!

Supposedly moth balls and dryer sheets are unpleasant for mice and keep them away. If you're going to bait you need to check them regularly as one trap doesn't often stop the second mouse that comes in after the first one has sprung it.

I'm going with mothballs since I have pets that could possibly ingest the dcon. I have a tray of mothballs under the engine and near the back of the car. Dang them things stink.

The dryer sheets work very well. Been using them for years when storing snowmobiles and boats.

I had a problem with a squirrel or chipmunk getting into my SUV last winter. Cost me a fortune when the shop found a nest in my duct work. They had to take part of the vents apart. So, I put out rat/rodent baits. The first 2 trays disappeared fast. I put out 2 more and they haven't been touched. No more problems with the rodents either. I hate to kill them, but I can't have them damaging my cars.

I am also going to put the dryer sheets in and around my car when I put it away for winter.

I also ordered a battery tender from Amazon.

Whats kind of dryer sheet do you recommend...I'm guessing the more prefumed the better.

Yeah, if you want your Camaro smelling like a french whore house come spring.

I'll be using untreated charcoal brickettes to absorb moisture and an ultrasonic pest repeller.

Try just full time sleeping in your Camaro and watching out for them.

Otherwise, Decon works and so could mouse traps. Or just piss off a cat and let him run loose in the garage or wherever your car is.
