Indeed I do. Makes me wonder if the EpII Malibu, with its lighter curb weight, would crack the magic 40 MPG mark with eAssist...

In any case, GM just left the competition in the dust.

I want to know how much drag is reduced on a lowered Z Spec Cruse? Any efficiency gain is probably offset by the wheel and tire combination.

If you lower a volt to reduce drag is there a measurable range increase for battery use only?

Yes, the Volt is already lowered, and has a much lower and more pronounced lower chin spoiler and has the upper grill opening already closed out.

However, you could lower it even more.......................

One of the big enablers for the Volt and Cruze Eco is a low rolling resistence tire. This doesn't generally handle as well as a "normal" tire, but they are also more expensive.

That's one question I've seen a lot, "why doesn't the regular Cruze just get all this stuff standard?" The answer is it costs a lot more money for lowering rolling resistence, aero and mass. Maybe someday that stuff is the same price, but can you imagine going to a tire manufacturer and asking, "hey I want a tire that has significantly reduced rolling resistence, but stops just as well". Today that costs extra money.

What was your question again?

Put in an order for 50 shares today. My parents and I are going to split it, I'll have 25 and they'll have 25.

Looks like it'll end up costing me near $800, but should be a worthwhile investment.

From what I read and what I am told, getting an order filled may be difficult which is good for GM.

Not sure if the employee share program will influence the filling of the orders. Hopefully it does.

It will. GM has set aside shares for employees which is a another good move.
