If i buy the PDIM parts from GM, does it come with the steering wheel controls?

Thanks in advance

Nope. That's a seperate part. You'll need a couple of parts for the steering wheel controls: The actual buttons and the wiring harness. I think they come out to about $60 total for what you need for the steering wheels controls (not including getting the parts activated by GM). You'll need the wiring harness specific to the automatic or manual transmission (because of the tapshift).

after you have them reprogram ur computer. There is a DIY to put the controls in. Took me like 30 min start to finish. Then take your car to the dealer and pay them $50 for the program + whatever they charge to put it in your computer.

You won't have the bluetooth for the phone (you would need to change out the OnStar module to one that has bluetooth), but the phone button would be used for the onstar carphone. Does that make sense? I believe you will also have to take the car to a dealership to have a GM tech activate the controls.

yes that makes perfect sense. so it would be better getting it on the car directly from the factory.

It would have been easier. But there have been a few people who have installed the various parts on their own. I want to install some of the parts, but haven't purchased and installed any of them yet...

Here's a link showing the steering control install.

They can install it, since it's a GM part. I don't know how much they'll charge for the install, though.

follow the DIY posted..it is extremely EASY!!! plus, you will have the satisfaction that you did it yourself...

I did both the steering wheel controls and the PDIM, took me about 1hr to do both.
