My biggest complaint is that the LCD is terrible at night. I like to have my dash as dim as possible and I just have it with 1 tick up where the doors just light up. But the Metra LCD I couldn't tell half of the icons on there so something like AC, I can't tell if it's on or off. I had to change it to a greenish color which works but doesn't match as I would like it. If I turn up the dash brightness all the way, the LCD looks great, but everything else is bright too.

I got the the lcd to match, It's the blue buttons I don't like.

For the steering wheel controls, It says a red led will flash in the main box but I dont see an led coming on. I called and they told me the same thing as the directions. I took the box apart and still no light.

I can get the blue to match, I just can't see most of the icons on the LCD at night. I just wish the LCD could be changed on the brightness independently of the rest of the dash.

A few weeks ago for some reason my steering wheel controls just stopped working. I know that I did have to manually configure each to get the LCD to show up. Took me like 30 minutes just to get that LCD to show up, maybe even longer since I couldn’t even find the LCD on the box. But I would image calling them for help would get it solved for you but I guess it didn’t. Maybe you got a bad kit? My first kit was bad on the bezel, the door lock (or unlock) would stick but got an RMA as quickly as new kits came in stock from the place I bought it from. I think I have a lifetime warranty. I'd be upset if I couldn't them to work. I am so use to having those controls and they are there and supposed to work. I just wish GM put them on the other side of the steering wheel and the cruise control controls on the right side, like every other car I have ever owned. My left hand is always on the wheel and I like having that quick access to the controls since my hand is always touching next to them, but that's just my personal preference.

I think what he means is...

The radio will have a harness that plugs into the back of the radio with wires sticking out.
Does the metra kit include a harness to connect these wires to the stock plugs?

i haven't seen the kit yet,,,,but i did sleep at a holiday inn express once so.......

i am guessing the Metra plugs up to a/c etc harness and only houses the radio.....the radio will plug up to the Camaro's radio harness.....

harness for the radio and heat/ac controlls are in the kit, you don't have to cut any wires in the dash the harnesses plug directly into them, you will need an antenna adapter for the radio.

i am getting ready to do the Kenwood/Metra install and have a question.

What does the electrical lead on the 40-eu55 adapter connect to? is there a lead off the radio?

I have not studied the install manuals yet, so forgive me if this is a simple answer!
