Still waiting for anything in MD. Even a post card would be appreciated at this point.

Hey, Jimmy, we all live and learn. A markup wasn't mentioned on the day I ordered, so I ASSumed there was none. Within a few days I did decide I'd better call and ask, sure enough there was one.

I think you are right. Unfortunately, I did not know this until after I made the order. I have tried several times to get them to enter the pre-order in workbench but they are not going to budge. I assume they don't want to change their internal ordering system because they are so large. They have 4 locations in the area. They assure me this will not slow down the delivery of the car in any way.
My dealer had the 2nd largest allocation in the country, 63, and had NO problem placing my order, the first, at 9:15 am on day 1, Oct 13th. Left with Workbench confirmation number in hand. That's the way to run a "large" business.

My dealer had me sign an order form on which they wrote MSRP. I tried to get some off of MSRP but they would not come off sticker.

One thing I am afraid of though is if GM raises prices, before my dealer enters my order, that I will not have price protection. I read somewhere that GM honors pricing for pre-orders entered thru workbench. Since my dealer does not enter pre-orders in workbench... I assume I don't have price protection.
Does anyone have any knowledge about this?

I would go back to them and demand that they put the order in or I would go somewhere else. That's why GM offered the pre-order on the Camaro so dealers could do it. There was definitely confirmation that people who pre-ordered had price protection. If you do an advanced search on here you can find the info.

I agree 100%. A lot of the other Chevy dealers in the area have used up a good portion of their allocations... so I don't want to cancel my order and lose my spot in line. I am 10th out of an allocation of 42. In hind site I would have ordered from someone else.

I guess I will stop by the dealer tomorrow and try one more time to get them to enter the pre-order in workbench.

Ummm...dude... It's the same order system they use for every other factory order they have ever placed. It's not exactly strictly for the Camaro.
