First time polishing any car ever. The before and after photos are evidence of what a complete detailing amateur can do with a little time and elbow grease. I am sold on Adam's products thus far. Just thought I'd share my personal opinion on some great products. Don't have a PC yet, just used a Turtle Wax Random Orbital Polisher (around $20 at Wal-Mart). Maybe when cash flow is better I can splurge and get one.
What I used: Before: Polish (did two separate times, wiping off with Adam's microfiber cloth inbetween): After: Comparisons with polished and unpolished paint: (polished) (unpolished) (unpolished) Maybe it's all placebo effect or overvaluation of my own work, but I can see quite a difference! I am very happy with these products. I used Adam's Buttery Wax and applied by hand after the polish.

Did you do any surface prep such as clay bar, or just wash before doing this?

I did not clay bar immediately prior to this, although in retrospect I should have because I did notice some pinpoint debris stuck to my paint after the polish. However, I did recently clay bar (in the past 2-3 months). And I did wash it a few days ago, essentially been in the garage ever since, so I just did a light once-over with some detail spray immediately prior to this.

I'm amazed that little buffer did such a good job.

Work your polish longer. It's not broken down all the way and still has play time. If you wipe that off, you've waisted product. Nice results!

Thanks guys. I too was surprised I got such good results, it being my first time and using a relatively cheap polisher. Even though it's a tough to see in the pictures, there were still faint hints of spider-webs/swirls in the paint after polishing, just MUCH less noticeable. Part of that is probably my inexperience with not working the polish long enough, technique, etc.
