And a Cobalt is .........I know you didn't say it was either.

Colbalt's have there purpose and the Camaro's have there's. I could have bough a Cobalt SS for my daily driver, but at the end of the day it was still just Cobalt And I wanted a CAMARO.
What can I say...heat of the moment. I've grown to like the Cobalt. Not as cool as the Camaro, but it looks better than the Neon!

I would! Regardless of it being "just a cobalt" it is still faster stock vs stock and mod for mod against a v6 camaro

well to be fair, if your posted time is real and correct, your Cobalt is faster than 95% of all 5th Gen Camaros. But then again, so what? I doubt you'll ever see someone trade a SS or even a a "lowly" LT for a Cobalt in any trim. That's just reality. The flip side? Hell yes. Cruel, I know.

Sure it is for a 4000 lb car.

Compared to the 100's of V8's that I looked at that wish they could get into the 13's it is pretty quick.

Maybe I am way off here....but what looks better with me behind the wheel? I know for a fact that the Camaro is more eye catching than any Cobalt SS. So add all those thingamajigs to either vehicle you still have a Cobalt and Camaro.... "sweet ride you got there" from a Cobalt SS owner, "thats my next car".

Execpt you already have FI and that's a mod we can do. Yes, your car is lighter and comes stock with either S/C or T/C. Compared to stock turbo V6s it doesn't stack up that well. It would be like comparing a LLT with turbos to a SS with turbos...of course the larger displacement engine will produce more power. With FI our larger displacement engines will produce more power than yours. I would be willing to bet in 6 months there will be turbo V6 Camaros that are beating the Cobalts pushing the max PSI. Then you'll get bigger turbos and somebody with a Camaro will replace the tranny and up their boost. In the end, it will be about who has more money. Sooooo, the point made before is valid. Compare NA cars to NA cars and FI cars to FI cars. GM did a good job with both the Camaro and Cobalt. This isn't the Cobalt forum though, so either show or expect to start getting flamed.

I would much rather buy a Turbo Cobalt than a LS Camaro for similar prices.

The only reason I would buy an SS Camaro and trade in my SC Cobalt are as follows.
1. It's a Chevy.
2. It doubles the Cylinders and Triples the Displacment.
3. It's RWD and will launch much better.
4. Looks a million times better!
5. Better interior and ride.

The reasons why I havent done it yet.
1. Costs twice as much as what I paid in 2006 for my new Cobalt.
2. Will require modifications just to match the Cobalt's current modded speed.
3. My MPG would be cut in half.

Why can't everyone just realize that because the Camaro ended in 2002, Chevrolet and GM still made affordable Cars that were designed for the enthusiast? It's no coincidence that the Cobalt SS died in 2010 and the camaro came back. Just be happy that the Cobalt was such a bargain for an enthusiast and Chevy did a good job with it. It wasn't a luxury car and it wasn't exactly refined. But it did it's job and can fight with the best of them for half the price. Pretty similar business plan as the corvette just 1/3 the price...

And at least it isn't a damn dodge NEON!

Not when your comparing a 4 Cylinder that has forged internals, low compression and is designed from GM to be boosted. The V6 has neither of these and would cost a fortune to get all of it's FI potential.

Very few people have enough to money to do as they will with any car. Thus, the money and cost argument is always a valid one. It all comes down to what somebody wants, and I wanted my SC Cobalt and now I want an SS Camaro. It's all wants compared to cost.

Your truck will fall falt on it's face mid track and the cobalt will just start pulling and pulling... Thats not a good comparison at all...
