Maybe this will help.

Important: The vehicle will ONLY lock the doors with the RKE transmitter, door key, IP door lock switch or manually operating the door lock with the driver's door closed. With the driver's door open, the locks will cycle locked then unlocked if attempting to lock the vehicle. Also note the doors will not lock with the passenger door open.
Important: For each vehicle, there is one flip key with an RKE attached to an RKE transmitter, one fixed key with a transmitter and one key for the glove box lock.

If you have an automatic, just have the remote start feature installed.

It says Manual in the post. I just used the remote on the second keyset.

Lots of Rodgers folks on here. Randy still afraid of the computer???

Maureen...Mine only came with two 'flip' keys and no 'glovebox' key. Not sure if the '11s were packaged different, I didn't get a cargo net either...

When your car is running with one set of keys, the other set is disabled ...

Ditto, two flip keys, no cargo net and no glove box key. Locking a glove box is foolish anyways because a thief will damage your car even more because they will think that something of value must be in it. Correct me if I am wrong, but I do not think that the glove box locks on my 2010 1SS.

You can change the lockout protection in Personalization settings through the radio. It is probably set with the lockout protection on, preventing the driver's door from locking with the key in the ignition and door open.

You can change that setting or you can also hit the dash lock button twice.
