How would this noise problem hold up with pursuing this under the 'lemon law' - you know 3 strikes for the dealer in light of the GM's TSB saying it is normal?

I wonder what an arbitrator would say / or do given the persistence of the noise issue on a $38k vehicle (and the number of issues) that have low miles and the manufacturer having no remediation (fix) other than 'it's normal'.

I have been beating on my dealer to solve this issue and my patience is running out. Your thoughts...

I found them loose after a few days from the initial tork outside the car. Ensure the car is under full weight.

After that and putting all back together. Next check the springs that they are properly seated in the strut housing. Ensure the rubber seats are between the springs and the housing at the top and bottom of the spring.

If all is in order, finally, check to ensure that the front sway bar is properly positioned and all bolts are tight.

These actions resolved all noise even over bad potholes.

I'm guessing that the TSB would prevent any possibility of a lemon law case winning, since the noise is documented and considered "normal" by GM. Unfortunately, I think it would unfortunately be a waste of time. I don't agree with GM's position on the noise and the TSB, since all Camaros don't make the noise. Have you had the strut bearings retorqued as mentined in the recent postings? I'd ask the dealer if they've checked the torque on the bearings. They should at least be willing to try this if they haven't already. It would be a big win for everyone if they could fix your car by attempting this.

I'm taking mine to my dealer and having them do all the things Daddyo01545 said to do. I hope it fixes the problem. It is very frustrating to spend the kind of money we did on our cars only to have them sould like worn out old farm trucks when you go over bumps.

The latest status on my end is that GM arranged a field engineer to meet with the dealer yesterday to try and figure out what the issues are and how to fix them. They are willing to work on my car as the "test" car and also use some of the feedback in this forum to see if the fixes identifed actually solve the problem and distribute the fix out to the dealers. So hopefully we will have this forum and Daddyo01545 to thank for helping to get this issue resolved.

I am waiting for the lady from GM to call me back - she promised she would do so today af ther rep met with the dealership.

The person I spoke to from the GM Executive offices put me off now until Tuesday until they have more time to look into the issue. Hopefully this will result in the final resolution but here is the number for the Executive Office of GM. I think if everyone calls GM may start listening and we will start getting some answers - 313-667-7153

my 2SS/Rs does the same thing also. Both sides. Has done it since new . I have 1250 miles on it now. My hesitation while on cruise is my biggest gripe.

I just installed front and rear Eibach swaybars and right away I noticed the inherent noise these cars make on small bumps got much worse. I think it may have something to do with the poly bushings. The sway bar will twist just a little in the bushings and I think the binding even with grease on the bushings is being amplified by the subframe and thats what we are all hearing. The stock bushings are tight and dy and its just my guess this is the popping noise. Maybe someone can try disconnecting the link pins and driving on a bumpy road to see if there is a difference.

Adding poly bushings in the front of a car in place of the OEM rubber ones is likely to increase the NVH, as you pointed out. A stiffer sway bar combined with less compliant bushings will firm up the ride over bumps slightly. This will magnify any noise caused by slack in other parts in the suspension, including the strut tower area.

I purchased a 2010 V6 RS in September 2010. My car has made the rattling noise since day one. It is at the dealership right now about this problem. I called to check on it and was told every thing is checking out (suspension, struts, etc) ok. This noise is about to drive me crazy. Ridiculous to be driving a BRAND NEW car that sounds like a 20 year old pick up truck going over bumps at a slow speed! SOOOOOO FRUSTRATED!
